In addition to what I said above, this is where I am with analysis and trying to make a decision on FI for my 350Z. My 350Z is pure stock just like it came off the show room. Absolutely zero mods. I don't want the replacement hood situation as with the Stillen. The price (from what we are hearing from $4000 to $4500 street price) is relatively good with the Turbonetics single turbo and it sure sounds like the More Power is there in mucho abundance! 385 wheel hp with just this one economical mod!...I had to reread this part of the thread several times...thought I was misreading or dreaming or something...I should be able to run the 8.5 PSI boost for over 400 hp at the wheels at the track on my Sunoco 104 octane GT plus unleaded gas…I love the idea of adding an electronic boost controller with a turbo (vs. a supercharger) for effortlessly upping the boost a bit at the track on the high octane juice. Without changing or messing with the finicky belts of a supercharger. I have 60’ times of 2.0 seconds – good for the stock 17” tires – which results from a lot (many years) of drag racing experience and my track has really good sticky hookup for the launch…Man, someone pinch me in case I’m dreaming, but I think I can get right into solid 12 sec. qtr. miles with this modification alone on a pure stock 350Z at 8.5 PSI! Even if I have to throw a couple of drag radials into the equation, this still seems to be a damn good deal. Some people in this forum have had to go to a lot of mods, effort, and a lot more expense to get solidly into the 12s. I like the 11.5 air/fuel ratios Turbonetics is getting over the whole rpm band – this and the timing retard are critical issues with me.

I do love the APS system. But, this single turbo setup seems much easier and quicker (read less costly) to install than the TT setups, not just because you have one less turbo, intercooler, and plumbing, but because of the location and ergonomics. Hmmm. This single turbo has much More Power than the HKS and better low and midrange power than the other centrifugal superchargers. I can use that power in the low and midrange more than right at the top of the rpm band, but I do like the way the centrifugals (not the HKS though) are absolutely SCREAMING fast when they hit high rpms. Seems people are always having belt tightening issues(constantly) with the centrifugals as well. Turbonetics is a name organization as well so they’re gonna be there long term (not saying others won’t be – all the ones mentioned here are solid organizations)... And I really want to get well into 12 sec. for the qtr. mile with high quality and reliability for an economical price out the door...I still like the HKS supercharger a lot, though, but this single turbo is really growing on me…Do you see any errors in my thinking MIAPLAYA?

Since I have the stock exhaust so there are no issues with me of having gone to the true dual exhaust which may not plumb in correctly with this single turbo. (Granted there are some ideas how to modify the true dual exhausts to work with this setup as well.)

I like your logic entirely. As I said before I was set on a Franken-ATI Procahrger kit myself till I heard about this. After having driven in this car I can honestly say this is the car for me. Power when I want it. Good price, easy install, great tuning. And yeah definitely a company thats not going anywhere.

accord: I'm gonna shoot that kit like its Carmen Electra going down on Pam going down on Jennifer Love Hewitt going down on me.... (Ie: Lots of Pics!!)

Currently there is no provision to pass CARB. Turbonetics has said they will be working on it early next year.

Screw emmisions. If this is reliable and stays at under $5k. I think I'll take my chances.

There are some other states that have it. Personally I dont give a rats@ss about emissions. Theres ways around everything. But at least Turbonetics is going to work on it.

just to make a point about emissions - probably around half the guys that go turbo end up going with test pipes which is essentially the same thing.

Default CATs

Not really exchanging test pipes back and forth with the OEM CATs is trivial. Putting the OEM CATs back on in the OEM postion with this configuration is impossible.
