So will you have to tap the oil pan or can you get a spacer and tap the spacer?

I hope you get your car back up and running soon MIAPLAYA...
I can't wait to see some video soon in the next month or so

You could absolutely tap the spacer and run a j tube for the return.. Me and protocav are actually working on a modified stock oil pan to add along with the spacer. We are trying to get some well designed baffles welded onto the stock pan to prevent slosh and combining that with the spacer gives you a really cheap version of the APS or PE oil pans. The plans are to tap the spacer and run a j tube for draining. We are still working on the design of the baffle to make them as efficient and worthwhile as possible. I'll post pics when we have a final design. Currently doing test fitting...

You planning on making more than one for yourself? If so you planning on pitching it to the Turbonetic guys so they can include it in the kit so it just becomes a swap?

Well we are still designing it so we are not sure which way we are going. i had planned to market it to a vendor like Mossy or someone to pretty much sell it for us or just buy our design. (Not like its rocket science).

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE **************UPDATE

I just got off the phone with Brad. The first 25 kits are being boxed right now. He believes the first 18 or so are already sold so if you haven't ordered order now... FOR THE TUNER KIT. MSRP from Turbonetics is going to be $5295. That about $300 less then the full version and will not include injectors, reflash, or fuel pump. Of course street price will be lower.... The part number for the tuner version is 15138. And yes it is available now. Most vendors probable do not have the info yet as this was a new decision from Turbonetics but if the vendors contact Turbonetics they can order the kit directly. They have enough for probably another 30 kits that can be tuner versions now. The next run of full kits will be out in a week or so. There will not be a cat option for the tuner version. just an FYI.... As I said before for those who want to use their own fuel management I would sincerely suggest going with the full version and just ditching the reflash if thats what you want. Even at full cost $4750 plus and emanage with all the harnesses $500 Total cost is $5250. Thats $200 less then the cheapest Greddy i have seen and thats not factoring in the price difference in install. Greddy install=~$2000 Turbonetics install= ~$800 Keep in mind also that part of the reflash is getting rid of the throttle percent opening. For those who dont remember on a stock ECU the throttle plate closes to 80% near redline. Part of the Turbonetics flash is to ensure it stays at 100%

Thats it for now guys!!!!

I thought you'd be happy. BTW I asked Brad again about the bigger wheel or compressor and he said hes waiting to hear from the engineering guys on whether a different wheel (P trim) would do ok in the standard 60-1 compressor housing. If not they will need to see if a 62-1 may fit or maybe even a 68-1. A 68-1 is a LOT of turbo...

Of course if your feeling froggy their T series big boys are nice., Or maybe a nice Thumper series...just kidding I serioulsy doubt any of those would come close to fitting.

It's great to read that things seem to be getting back to normal. I haven't chimed in too much but I've been following this thread for a long time as I'm also interested in this kit.

62-1 should be an exact perfect fit.

MIA,

62-1 and 60-1 are externally exactly the same size - so there's no doubt that it'd fit. I've seen up to a T66 wheel in the 60 series housing even, but that's not usually recommended because it leaves very little diffuser section in the housing and efficiency will drop significantly.

That's me.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to come on here and post very often...

The 62-1 at the 9 psi of boost will be mildly more powerful - and difference in spool should only be about 100-200 RPM's if everything else is kept the same... now if you were to be running high boost (15 psi or greater), the higher flowing characteristics of the 62-1 will come into play more and could potentially make another 50-60 hp.

Thats what we are looking for...GREAT info...There are several members here who want to purchase a tuner kit with a bigger then average turbo to make about 600-650 RWHP. i think the 62-1 should be perfect then.

600 whp might be do-able... but that could be pushing it. We usually rate the 62-1 wheel (with appropriately sized turbine) at about 625 flywheel horsepower - however I've heard of B-series Honda motors with full standalone at 25 psi of boost making over 600 whp.

Since we are dealing with the VQ35DE(T) that hasn't seen the full potential untapped yet, I suppose the possibility is there to make more power than you'd normally expect - we shall see. Tuning will probably be the key.
