Default 14.5 psi tonight

Tonight I was out doing some road tuning because I installed 650cc injectors. It was 55 degrees tonight and made a few WOT runs at 9psi, which is what I was tuning for. I got it dialed in pretty quick, about 3 or 4 pulls in 3rd gear, and 4th, this is on 100 octane. I decided to make a map for some higher boost, about 12psi. I was running out of gas so I went home and threw 5 gal of 112 octane for the high map. Went back out and richened it up a little and let her rip. I really didn't mean to, but I ended up hitting 14.5psi. So I richened it up a little a little more, like 11.0 A/F at redline and said screw it lets go for broke. Made a 2nd - 5th gear pull on the highway. EGT's were about 540 celcius, J&S pulled 2 degrees of timing out, but that could have been some road noise or the turbos spooling being that I turned up the sensativity **** a bit. Some how my stock clutch is still alive, but I did smell clutch.

Some how, my motor made it. Maybe it's the 112 oct, the cool weather, or maybe the J&S. Either way, if I didn't have the J&S I wouldn't hae even attempted this. Props to John for making the J&S Safeguard, I'm sure without this my motor would have been gone already.

what is Zavar?

good job bill, do you plan on keeping the boost levels that high for track use, or was this a "why not" type of experiment?

I'll just run 9.5 daily, and up it to like 11 when I run someone or go to the track. Last night was just a why not, lets go for broke and put the new motor in if it blows up. It held up, but who knows for how long..

how does the car idle and cruise with the 650 injectors? Do you notive a rougher idle or rich condition? Did you TS reflash for it...or just scale with eManage?

No TS reflash. Just used the map that came with the E-Manage, and scaled them. I had to modify the map alot, it didn't want to idle at first, and when I turned my AC on it got lean as hell, and would just stall, it drove like **** and just ate my gas. Got it fixed now and runs just fine.

Damn impressive!! With that kind of boost, your well over 500rwhp. Just goes to show that the stock internals are not all that weak. It's all about the tune.

I agree, a good tune goes a long way. I'm sure it will take the power, but it might take it for only a week, who knows. I might have screwed something up last night and not even know it yet, but then again, it might be just fine. We'll see what happens.

*****, yes. I do have a built motor, but not complete.

I ran it up to 13.5 tonight a few times. Punched it from an 80mph roll and she started to go sideways. I think I'm done abusing it, not.

Default Dyno!

Come on, it would be great just to see those numbers. I'll say that I don't have the ***** to run that much psi.

You'd be the first 500+ on stock internals. I think you get a bowl of soup for that.
