Default Anyone running a AEBS sleeved block yet?

Getting mine ready to put in. Curious if anyone is running on the sleeves yet?

I am pretty paranoid about these things sinking.

Does AEBS have a history of sinking sleeves?

Everything I've heard says that a few people have had trouble with GE and Darton sleeves on various engines, but that most people attribute it to a poor installation. Supposedly the design of the sleeves should prevent sinking if installed proplerly.

From the pics I've seen of the AEBS T-sleeves, I can't see how they could possibly sink. There is a ridge along the bottom half which captivates the sleeve. So the sleeve is wedged between the bottom of the bore and the head gaskets. Seem sink proof IMO.

If your shipping the motor to AEBS to install the sleeves, i dont believe you should have anything to worry about. When a sleeve sinks, its because it wasnt fitted to the block correctly. Those sleeves shouldnt distort in any fashion unless you dropped a bomb on it.

the sleeves were installed by AEBS themselves.

I have examined the sleeve job and so has my machinist and it was done very very well.

But I dont sleep any better at night until I run this car hard and they dont sink... all i can see is whats visable... whats underneath there I will never know... anything can happen and I like to be prepared for worst case scenario.

they will probably be fine... was just hoping to hear that someone out there had one running with no problems... i know they have sleeved a lot of VQ blocks now... but I still havent seen one that was running yet.

ZRAYGO is about 1 week away from starting the motor, after AEBS sleeved it and installed his pistons and rods. So I am sure we'll know soon enough.

The whole point of getting AEBS sleeves is so you never have to worry about the open deck. Go get some rest phunk.
