Default Vortech Driving impressions

Two words... Holy sh*t! I did a couple first through third gear runs last night and I was shocked at the acceleration! I shifted at about 6k rpm and I still couldn't believe how fast the car was going. I definitely am very happy with the Vortech so far.

Question though... how many freakin times do I have to tighten the belt? I've tightened it about 5 times already and I even installed a Gates 93" belt instead of the crappy Goodyear one that came with the kit.
One short cut I did come up with for tightening the belt was to drill a 2" hole in the plastic under tray directly under the drive belt tensioner so I didn't have to take the under tray off every time.

Later,
Steve

Thanks for the recommendation. Haven't had experience with the Gates, but installed a NAPA belt and never had to retighten. I am currently using: Dayco "Poly Cog" 5060935 Excellent! Better than the NAPA belt with the advantages of Goodyear "Gator". The 93" belt is 5060930. For 94", go with 5060940. I have OEM pulleys and the 5060935 is a tight fit.

good idea on drilling through the plastic pan to get to the tensioner. Will do that next time I have to crawl under the car.
