KJR Performance Crank Pulley
From all of us at KJR we want to say hello to the Z/G35 community and are happy to be new sponsors to the my350z.com site.
NO NEW BELTS REQURIED FOR THIS PULLEY
Finally, there is an aftermarket crank pulley available for the 350Z/G35 community that is lighter than stock but not underdrive. After five months of research and 3 prototypes, KJR Performance has finalized the design. The KJR Performance lightened crank pulley weighs just 2.040 pounds and is made out of Aluminum 6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminum. First machined out of a solid disk of aluminum, it then is precisely balanced to the G 6.3 standard.
Every test KJR has thrown at it both virtually using computer simulation and tests in the real world have passed. A thing as simple as testing it on the motor and going slowly up to redline has shown NO point in the rpm range where a critical frequency or resonance would happen, causing vibration to go to infinity. Other tests were done using computer models to test for fatigue strength and maximum shear stress. All tests have passed even under conditions harsher than what a pulley would ever experience.
This pulley is designed for owners who can't underdrive their accessories for various reasons. It is one of the easiest things you can do to free up power off the Z motor.
A 350Z tested with a KJR Performance pulley averaged gains of 4.8 foot pounds of torque and 7.9 horsepower. This goes along with the rule of thumb that for each pound taken off the crank, an estimated 2.7 horsepower can be achieved. An estimated 4 to 6 foot pounds of torque and 6-11 horsepower can be expected.
NO NEW BELTS ARE REQURIED FOR THIS PULLEY AND INSTALLATION REQURIES SIMPLE TOOLS.
Pricing will be 170 shipped to anywhere in the Continental United States. All other orders will be 165 plus shipping to your location.
For now the pulley will only come in a billet finish and black anodized

this pulley is stock size. UR doesnt make a stock size pulley. so its for people who do not wish to underdrive especially those with systems or people who cant afford to underdrive the water pump.

the site seems to be working fine when I go to it. If you are having problems still pm me and we will get things taken care of for you.
Excellent for SC applications, people with high output sound systems and those who dont want to mess with belt changes.

I highly recommend this pulley! KJR is a good company, and they make a quality product. I've had it on my car since the beginning of summer (daily driver) and have had no problems whatsoever and noticed an instant gain! Much better over stock, and definitely better than UR since you do not have to buy new belts or anything, just put in on there with everything else stock... sorry i have no dynos of before and after, SW Virginia doesn't have that many available (that i know about), but the gain was noticeable. the only other mod i had at the time was a stillen intake. If you have any questions i'd be happy to answer them!

i read most of that thread in the link.
what i would like to propose to those people is...instead of making the crank pulley lighter...what if you made it heavier? say.....20lbs? or even 200lbs?
would you notice a change in power/acceleration times?

your car would rev up like a small 4 banger. very very slowly. hp and tq would be greatly reduced.
minimizing rotational mass is what milks out the few extra hp and tq. also, centripital acceleration plays a role which is affected by the diameter of the pulley.
