I think everyone pretty much said both are great cars right up until this idiot decided to post:

The reason I chose the Z:
1) Looks more agressive.
2) Didn't WANT 4 seats.
3) Better performer (slightly).

To illustrate point "1)" here is a little comparison I did with the G and similar looking cars. I couldn't find any pics to compare the Z to b/c it's not possible.

G Coupe

Acura RS-X

SCION, Boo-yah

Don't you agree they look similar? My buddy told me if you put a Scion logo on the G you cant tell the difference. See my next post.

(Keep in mind I'm just kidding guys, I just want to rile y'all up)

Marketing at Nissan luvs this kind of sh*t. Glad we all have a choice between both of these nice rides.
I thought Sikk's thread was very funny. The TC is a nice looking ride. I would buy it if I wasn't wealthy.

Default "why can't we all live together"

This is absolutely ridiculous. As I pointed out the last time we had a similar “us (G35 owners) verses you (350Z owners)” argument, why can’t we all respect each other. We drive pretty much the same cars. They are all Nissans, yes they look slightly different on the outside but underneath it all they are the same.

Peace !!!!!!!!!!!

Here are a few shots from our local Z/G community:

the 300zx was more of a supercar in it's heyday...plus those 16inch wheels weigh about half of what our 350z wheels weigh.

I went with an 05 g35 6mt (this comes with 298hp, 19" rims and sport suspension). I didn't get any other options - it's a "strippie" (no sunroof = better torsional rigidity, jk).

here is why:
1) i prefer styling of a g coupe over a Z. its hard to argue about taste, that's just my personal taste (i don't like the sedan at all though).

2) for a sports car, the Z is a poor performer; but for a luxury coupe, the G kicks as$ performance wise. ( yea i know you can turbo it, but from everything i read on this board, it really seems like a pain and it costs $$$).

3) back seats. I already had a true sports car - an 01 vette from ages of 18-23. It was incredible to drive - the type of performance that I expect from a sports car, and styling still takes my breath away, and the girls litterally threw their panties at me in that car. Unfortunately, that car was a pain to own. And one of the main reasons was lack of back seats (a bunch of other stuff too, like reliability and fit and finish). So, i got older, i learned from my mistakes. I need back seats. I like owning a luxury coupe.

I know this is a Z forum, so i'm gonna be flamed or whatever, but i really do have a lot of respect for the Z. And i know you guys are a lot more into performance than the G35 guys and that's why i know the cars are essentially the same. And i have a lot of respect for all of you Z guys, and I am here to learn from you. This is just my honest opinion as to why, stock for stock, the G is more appealing in its class - which is not the same class as the Z.

And the G35 Coupe is a boat. Overweight. The Sedan actually handles better than the Coupe. Its between the 350z and G Coupe in handling.

Question

I still can't decide whether I want a G or Z. Here are my plans:

I am planning on heavily modding the car (G or Z) by adding a twin turbo and I will basically be spending over 14,000 on mods to achieve well over 500 hp and buying exterior modifications along with zeal xs coilovers.

If i get a G it will definetely be AT but if I get a Z I will get a 6-speed. And since I am starting college next fall I was wondering if the Z would make a decent daily driver for a college student who doesn't really need extra cargo space or back seats.

I feel that I won't be driving the car too much and will try to keep the miles relatively low since my college will be relatively close to home.

So if I am planning on heavily modding a G or Z and plan to street race and use as a daily driver which car would be better?

And about the Zeal XS coilovers, can you add the tein EDFC to these coilovers (sorry for the noob question but I am relatively new to the EDFC system.)

College plus turbo kit you're just asking for trouble.. Plan on having some bugs to work out for the next few months before having anything close to reliable.

For 14k for 500 whp might be a bit hard to do. I suggest the APS TT, prob best bang for the buck in the price range.

Well 14k was just my rough estimate, I can invest more into the car for achieving a reliable turbo setup by working on the internals. I still don't understand what you mean by bugs to work out.
