Default Salesman crashed G35 on test drive!

Hi all, had to share this with u guys. Went to Coconut Creek Infiniti in S. FL. today to test drive a G35 coupe. I'm really torn between A BMW 330 CI and the G35. Anyway, he gets in the drivers seat and tells me he will drive it out of the lot and then let me take over. He warns me that he will show me how it handles around a curve in the parking lot and I say.. No prob. just don't crash. Well, he floors it, attempts a 90 deg. turn and loses control. Right over the curb, front left tire wasted and and side panels trashed. I have ti feel bad for this "ex- Infiniti employee. Car will be written off as a loss, msrp $ 40,000. Anyway, I continues with my test drive with a diff. salesguy and car. What a fun car! However, it made me a little leary about taking sharp turns with it. I hope this was just a bad driver who got way in over his head and not a testament of the G35's handling abilities. I'm wondering if the bmw would of done the same. All in all, they are willing to let me pick any car at invoice for my " inconvenience" tonight.

A G35 at invoice is a steal - go for it and enjoy.

The G35 handles very well, sounds like the guy just didn't know the road conditions or how to drive. Don't let that scare you. The G35 is sweet as is the Z. I don't care too much for the BMW 3 series unless it's an M3, but that's just me.

i do believe that they both handle just about as good, given the same road conditions. G35's are fun cars, but it has a pretty crappy interior for the price. However, they are bumping up the price of the 3 series quite a bit to introduce the 1 series (booo)

Your satisfaction with a BMW depends on the dealership. I advise everyone to not buy a BMW in Nashville or Tampa. I was a super satisfied customer in Atlanta but when I moved to Nashville my ownership experience became a nightmare. I sold my much loved BMW out of disgust. I don't have experience with Infiniti but my experience with Lexus, Acura, Honda, Toyota and Nissan has been fine so far. The problems I had with BMW of Nashville was the arrogance of the service manager and the double charging for repairs. Also, they break other things and blame the customer.

No way in hell they'll write that car off...$10 they fix the damage and sell it w/o any sort of disclosure to its future owner. Dealerships are more crooked than you could ever imagine.

Having driven both the G35c and 330Ci, I think they handle similarly. The difference is that the 3 seems much better damped - the ride is way smoother (even w/sports pkg). Also I think the 3's steering is more communicative than that of the Z/G. Both great cars though. Once they add a stability control disable switch to the IS350 though, I think that will be the ride to have.

Thanks for the input guys. If I was smarter, I would of had an ambulance come and treat me for neck and back pain, and then get a good attorney and sue their pants off. I did sign a letter describing the incident in detail. I think they should of let me have the car for free!! The bmw Im considering is an '06 330 coupe with the performance package witch ups the h.p. to 235. The G35 is definetely faster but the way that bmw handles is awsome. I know the new 330's are 255 hp now but I don't like the looks of the new E90. What is this ZHP 330 I keep hearing about?I guess the problem im having is shelling out $ 45000 for a 235 hp car, inspite of how well it handles. G35 MT6 was a blast to drive tonight, the Bose was just OK.

When I had a Mazda before my Z the guy I knew in the parts Dept. told me about a salesman that drove out of the lot to test drive a new RX-8 and first corner took it too fast and wiped out all four wheels over the curb. No more salesman only test drives after that.

this is exactly why my company has a training session that all the salesmen have to attend to get them familiar with a newly released vehicle. we do the whole nine yards from slalom runs to 1/4 runs, its pretty fun.

in your case the dealer won't take a hit at all, their insurance will cover the loss. however if I were you I def would have taken advantage of the situation and threaten to sue or at least file a compaint w/NNA unless they bend over backwards on a deal for you.

Not sure what NNA stands for. I called an attorney today and told him what happened, he seems to think I have a good case for suing, just not sure if I want to go through all the BS. My neck has been hurting all day though.

I was in the same situation. The 330Ci was 5-10K more for a base model, I got my G35 05 6mt with premium and aero for a lot less. You get more options for less money, the handling can be fixed for a few hundred in susupension mods.

G's handle ok. Porsche and BMW handle the best. Surprisingly one of the worst handling cars is the dodge viper.

you should consult with a lawyer. Co**** Creek can do way better for you than invoice once a fine south florida attorney gets a crack at that.
