Default G35 vs 5.0 Mustang????

My friend has a Ford Motorsport sticker across his windshield. He swears that before and after times at the track were 0.15 sec and about 5 mph. This is because the raised lettering creates a boundry layer over the windshield and roof area making the car more aerodynamic.

He also painted his car white which gained him 0.08 sec and 2.53 mph. The reason being that white has less pigment and thus is lighter weight.

Question, if I put a Nismo sticker on BOTH my front and rear glass will I gain the required 25 rwhp needed to beat him???

If I just chemically strip my paint off and paint the bare metal with clear would my car get under 2300lbs????

your kidding right? I thought those windshield stickers went on the inside and the little painting I did, it only took about 2 quarts for a car.

if he adds a sticker graphics kit across the body of the car, it's the equiv. of getting a rousch supercharger!!! heck, if he strips the paint and just put on a layer of clearcoat, he has himself a 9sec car!!!!

I say go for it.

Here are what I did as well:

I also have stickers at the bottom of the car and it shaves off 0.78 of a second because the air flows through a lot smotther and thus create just about the right lift for the car.

I also put a string accross each of the exhaust tip. It splits the air flow and halves and thus double the thrust. Saved me another 0.21 second.

I too popped the hood but didn't lift it up so it can channel enought ram air to cool the engine bay at high mph.

I lowered my windows to about 28.761% open so that enough air will get it and lift the car up a bit to reduce wiehgt without causing any drag in the winds at all. I think that helped save about a whole 800lbs of the dragged weight of the car.

G'luck.

Oh, and remember to use those heavy duty aircraft remover to remove the paint. They really did me a good job. I made it into high 11s with these simple mods.

Good luck and play it cool

u would have better results if u lowered ur window to 18.6% instead of 28.761

I tried 18.6% and it didn't lift it enough. the 28.761% will have a lil more drag, but at the same time, weight will be dramatically reduced so the Drag to Weight ratio is slightly better.

I shaved off a full 3 seconds and put 431 hp to the wheels on a dyno by removing the engine and tranny. Did you know that they add 700 lbs?? Thats a lot of weight!

hey now a 5.0 mustang is no joke, I had a 91 5.0 mustang notch back ran 14.8's bone stock. I removed the 5.0 emblem and replaced them with cobra's, put saleen decals all over it and installed a saleen wing. Never go to take it back to the track but it felt like I would run at least 8's in the quarter. It was insane after the saleen stuff and cobra emblems. I tried putting cobra emblems on my Z but didnt have the desired effect, was much faster with the cobra emblems but the overall handling went to crap.

Just kidding

You've heard of the Y pipe.. the X pipe.. the H pipe.. nothing can touch the O pipe!!! It provides 100% back pressure feedback on ALL engines!! Torque increase and kuneutson valve float brings in much lower revs so you don't hurt your motor! Not CARB Legal. Please specify standard or polished finish. Product shown is single input O-Pipe with polished finish.

Wish you had a little more low end torque? Maybe you want a high revving formula1-esque screamer? KaleCoAuto's Adjustable Powerbands are the perfect solution! The power bands are made from titanium-injected rubber, with high grade 440 fasteners. Six links are included. One band is for horsepower, and the other for torque. You may use more than three links per side, but extreme caution should be taken!
