Question Best intake for us coupers?

What intake are you using and what opinions do people have about how much they are helping with a stock ecu? I am curious. I have been reading all the talk about swapping out for a stock z intake pipe, but I am considering just going with a full intake from like injen or someone to get rid of the mufflers in the coupe's stock set-up.

What do people feel is the best option? Go with a cai, just save money and go with a z intake pipe?

what do you guys think? Looking at doing that mod along with a crawford plenum all at the same time..just need to researcha nd see what the best route to go is.

I did the "Z" tube thing with a K&N Filter. Car pulls harder, revs quicker, sounds better. As I've often said I believe the "Z" intake is just about perfect. My Crawford Plenum goes in tomorrow after work. It came today. Doug at Crawford agrees with my intake mod. Can't wait to feel the Crawford.

I personally recommend the AEM CAI, as long as you're ready to install the TechnoSquare ECU upgrade...Go all the way, I say...Just an idea...I've heard nothing but negatives about Injen's CAI, and I won't buy a Stillen product...I even removed my Injen Super SES because of the intake horror stories...I'm waiting to see the results of GruppeM's Ram Charger set up and exhaust...

ive heard both bad and good for the injen cai and the injen's ses exhaust almost sounds too good to be tru. 24rwhp with the intake + exhaust. but it was proven on the dyno wit power through out all rpms. i dont remember torque tho.

I feel that cold air intakes are all snake oil. THey don't have much going for them. If I were going that route, I would go with the Crawford Plenum. THAT is the intake, not the injen or anything. Those are the intake tubes. When I see consistent, substantial gains with the Injen or something similar, then I will consider getting one. But obviously, there have been problems (Injen causeing 6 MT's to stall, no REAL gains on a dyno) with the CAI.

your right about cold airs, your car is engineer to push air away from where it rests
they are only good for a dyno where theres a fan right infront blowing air at it.
so i guess fi your car is as aerodynamic as a wall a cold air is good on the road.
