anyone go from 350z to g37s?
hi im looking at these liking all the luxuries the base 350z doesnt have but i was shocked to find no threads in search i thought there would have been a lot of discussion about the worthiness of the g37s, it has the akebenoka (ha spell) brakes "sport tuned suspension" and a more agressinve steering rack. just wandering if it will offer a similar feel of the z with the luxuries... anyone want to chime in i appreciate it!

The G37 Coupe is a more powerful car but is heavier then the 350Z. So, with this factor taken into consideration, stock to stock the G37 is slightly faster. The handling is just as crisp, but you can feel the weight difference between the two cars instantly. So, the G37 handles slightly better than the 350Z IMO but it does not feel that way because of physics. The transmission shift is not as notchy (which I like) in the G37 when compared to the 350Z and the G37 clutch feels so light also ( which I don't like). Bottom line is just go test drive one on a curvy road if possible, and you will see that my description is spot on. The G37 is niiice. But it doesn't quite feel as "sporty" as the 350Z. The 350Z is raw and unfiltered while the G37 is aggresive yet refined. It's like a Jack Daniels with a little ice vs. a glass of a nicely aged red wine. They both put a smile on your face...just in differnent ways.

You should post this question on my350z's sister site http://myg37.com/forums/index.php . Most if not all the ex G35/Z guys have migrated there. You would get a much more accurate and informed answer there.

I had 350zTT. My G37 is as stated much more refined. The new VQ37 motors are very nice. The power pulls all the way to redline with a linear power band. The interior is better than anything you will find in a 350z. Stock for stock it is no comparison for me as to which is the better car, but then again it should be for the price difference. The G37 responds well to mods also. The stock suspension is set up well and the brakes are pretty good for a factory set up. I added KW3 coilovers, strut bar and a Volk/Toyo combo which greatly improved the handling also. Looking forward to FI this fall. A stock block setup for these cars is cheaper than a 350z and makes way more whp, 500whp easy.
