Best headers for G35C?
I heard the stillen headers are the best gain for the buck... unless i'm mistaken? I plan on mating them with the mods listed below in my sig... I still refuse to get an aftermarket exhaust, i love the stock exhaust sound too much + I want to go for the sleeper look this time around...
I know the crawford headers will cost a pretty penny... the xerd headers seem to be running for 899 on the website. Anyone know of a vendor that will sell them cheaper? 900 bucks for headers is kinda steep.
edit - scratch that, if i run the xerd headers I will no longer need cats, and will most likely need to pair them off with test pipes... not worth it. I need headers that will work with my RT cats.

checkout 350zforums.org. they're a vendor on my350z and an authorized XERD dealer. Last week they were running a special for 350Z XERD Headers for $699 shipped. Give them a call or email them, their price will be much better then $899.

First, if you change the headers, you will impact the sound, especially in connection with the RT cats. It will deepen the exhaust note, make it louder, and headers give a distinctive growl under acceleration.....one of the side benefits of going through all the effort to put them in. So if you love the stock exhaust sound, be aware you will change it with both the cats and the headers.
Second, the sleeper look is not impacted by a catback exhaust. The tips are all that show, and most of the kit exhausts have tips that to all but the most observant could just as well be stock.
Third, though generally cheaper to buy than a catback, headers are way more expensive and difficult to install. The engine bay is tight and compact, and you are looking at about six hours to do the install, compared to less than an hour for the catback. Generally speaking the catbacks are delivering at least as much additional hp as headers do. At least on my motor the component on the exhaust that had the greatest impact was the RT cats, both as to hp release and sound richness.
SO my thought is that you go for the RT cats and the catback for the best value for hp and sound improvement. The headers are the last to deal with on the exhale side of the cyle. The stock ones are pretty efficient relative to the gains to be achieved AFTER the other exhaust mods, since hp gains are not strictly additive, especially after the cats and catback are already done.
Good luck.

I put on BRM headers...They are exactly the same as Nismo headers...made by the same company [ B&B} but cost only $800. I think if they are equal length you cant make a bad choice .
