Default Oil Pump Replacement

Just wondering if the the oil pump can be replaced without dropping the upper oil pan and just removing the front and rear timing covers, thanks.

You wouldnt need to remove the crank and you wouldnt get it off without taking the upper oil pan off...

you could get to the pump just fine and remove the mounting bolts but you'd never wiggle the pump off the crank bc the pump hangs well into the upper oil pan.

the absolute bottom of the pump hangs a few inches below the crank -

this is about the best picture I have with the pan on w/o the crank pulley - I dont think you could wiggle the pump off the crank and through the timing chain case gap.
