So as the title kind of says I think my car's engine's been swapped recently purchased a 2003 G35 sedan.
Old owner had a title pawn on it and was going to lose the car so instead sold it to me for dirt cheap car runs great transmission is smoooooooth.
Decided to put it under the knife like I did my old 350z and while doing headers noticed oil from valve cover. The seals are bad.
So to get straight to the point I took my valve covers off and it's extremely clean inside.
I've noticed the whole block is spotless only a few signes of wear but no burn oil on any parts of it. Buckets are not really scratched. No brown anywhere from old oil. I was wondering if anyone has stripped a vq35de engine and how nasty the heads where? Here is a pic to show you how clean a supposed 289k mile car is.
Bump.
if you look at the timing cover and the heads the heads are extremely clean and the timing cover is nasty. The block looks clean everything but the timing cover. I mean the thing has 289k miles.... It's a 2003 idk 😐
Bump still no answer.
took some pics of inside the timing cover. I'm starting to bleave this engine is new.... Oil pump looks shiny. The inside of the valve cover looks amazing. So idk can someone chime in?
If your planning on keeping it around for a while would be better to look into a remanufactured engine if new is to pricey at the moment but the only effect in pitting a older engine in would be sell value and anything else that comes with a higher milage engine
