G35 Night PhotoShoot test
Damn nice pics!
Can't go wrong with a nice long exposure time. The last one is absolutely awesome.
If you have any of these in high-resolution? I would love to use them as wallpaper. These shots are some of the nicest I've seen!
please send to cryhavok@bellsouth.net
Thanks!

JimNeutron, i'll email you the wallpaper later tonight.
Tulene, thank you for your extremely generous comment. I'm very flattered you think i'm near professional but this was my 2nd time doing night photography... I actually just began photography and wanted to see what people though of my shots. A friend of mine is near pro level and i just pick up things from him when he goes on photo-shoots.

hey there racingdynamics- let me just elaborate a bit further and say that what i find great about your images are that they're richly nuanced and have a bit of a cclandestine feeling to them. as in evidence of humanity but also the absence. you are likely being modest, but the your compositions and light sensitivity are not from a beginner thats for sure. check out www.toddhido.com he's a well know fine art photographer, you'll understand the connection. your images also remind me of stuff they do for automobile magazine, which set out recently to differentiate from the other two mainstream american car magazines (R/T, C&D) in a large part through their use of progressive photography. we used some of their images as inspiration for a scion ad campaign we did for toyota last year.
i hope you keep posting more pix!!!

Tulene, Thank you very much for your kind words and I really appreciate your comments even so more now knowing you are a profession in the field.
I must honestly say i know nothing about composition of photography or light sensitivity, I just take my time setting up for a shot and hope the shot comes close to what I envision. I try to get the most out of this sony camera (which is not mine) so i can say i do not even own a camera. I hope to buy a Nikon, Cannon, or one of the big names in phographic cameras. The sony I use can only adjust shutter speed and F-stop in manual mode so I think if i had more options i would expriment more...
Todd hido from what i can see is a great photographer, his shots have feeling. Very nice work.
What inspired a push in photography for me is this man, www.marcogrob.com ... This man's work is just, wow!

hey RD, you definitely have the eye man. those last two shots are amazing. selfishly i wish i had taken the dark car one myself because it'd be in my portfolio right now! so rare to see actually, that the whole car is not lit up. it subscribes to the old chinese proverb that things are best described by what's not there. it allows your brain to fill in the missing parts, resourcing imagination rather than spelling it out fully. therefore is often more compelling because everyone processes their own experience veiwing it differently. dont worry about not having the right gear etc. use whatever works to make an image, period. clearly you have the most important ingredient, that is an innate visual sensibility. i'd say you should pursue photography with more vigor. you're a natural. good luck!
oh yeah, marco grob's work is amazing.
