Default Help! how to change G35 coupe shift ****!!!

Hi All G and Z owners.

i just got this nismo shift ****. and i just can't remove the stock one. so does anyone know how do i remove it please? (2004 G35 coupe 6Speed).

Get a pair of channel locks, size it to clamp onto the stock shift **** (right above the silver circle part) and twist counter clockwise) It will come off, it's just a little tight.
Note: the silver circle part is part of the ****

NO! If you do it that way, you can damage the transmission, by moving the linkage. First snap the plastic metal trim piece (containing the boot) up, you then clamp the shift rod (between the trim piece and console, with a vise grip with a rubber liner, so it wont move. Then, and only then, try to unscrew the **** by hand, if that doesn't work, then use the channel locks with rubber, if you don't want to damage your old ****. Attached is a shot of my leather Nismo.

thanks guy's i just ask my dealership they going to do it for me.
they say going to take them 1hr to do it.
so i am bring in the car today....

1hr of labor to change a shift ****. ROFL. I wonder how much dealerships laugh at this type of stuff when the client leaves...
