Default 2005 Changes...Worth the wait?

Hey All!

A couple of questions:

Are the changes on the 05 G35 coupe significant enough to warrant waiting a few months for the 05 or minor enough to consider going for an 04 now?

What have been the biggest maintenance issues, if any, that come with ownership of the G35 coupe? Any tire threading?

Also, if anyone has had positive experience with Infiniti dealers in the Los Angeles, CA, area, your feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks! Cheers!

Well the 19" wheels are a plus but if you are going to replace them that is a mute point. The extra HP is nice though. It's a tough call.

Metro Infiniti in Monrovia, they are really good. http://www.metroinfiniti.com/

Well if your going for performance (6mt) then perhaps you may want to wait. I heard besides the 15+ hp gain, there will be other minor performance upgrades. Then again i heard the '05's arent coming with brembos. The 19" wheels are nothing to go nuts about cuz they are friggin fugly. But if your going more for show, I would just get one now. The interior upgrades are very miniscule and not much better looking. BTW, i like wheret h '04 clock position is. I dont like how the '05 interior design integrated the clock in the digital climate control display. For me, I am more show than go, so I would just get an '04 bro.

Also try out Thousand Oaks Silver Star Infinty (I think their part of the Silver Star automotive group). Thats where we got our G35 from (great service, as is the deal with most Infinity dealerships).

I'm in the same boat as you ..... waiting to see what the '05's have to offer. I'm waiting until spring to make my decision between an 04 and an 05 anyways since there's no sense having a sports car in the Midwest in the winter .

I figure, If the 2005 6MT's come out and I really want one, I'll get one then and, if I like the 2004's better, I can pick one of them up for a substantial discount if there are still some on the lot.

caz now is the time to buy the car, the more you wait, the more this car will become common,
its kind of like when the z first came out youd stalk the damn thing, but now its just a car

That doesn't make any sense. Whether you buy it now or wait until 2006, if it becomes common, it becomes common. It would make no difference when you buy it.

Now, if you're talking about customizing it now before the stock G35Coupe becomes as common as a Mitsu Eclipse, then you have a point.

How do you get a few months of "Wow"? The G35 Coupe has been out for 2 model years now. Hell, I live in the midwest and I see a good deal of them. I doubt anyone in the more urban areas will wonder what it is

So, you don't think the '04's will be discounted when all the sales guys want to move the new 2005 models?

Have you ever actually BEEN to a car dealership before?

I haven't seen what the 19's for the 2005 look like yet. Do you have a link to some pictures of them?

I recommend waiting. I like most of the changes for the 05's, except those 19" wheels are ugly and no Brembos.

Nice changes include: MP3 capability, +15 HP for manuals, real Alum. dash trim, smoother shifter, hopefully got more kinks out of it.

That really sucks about the Brembos. I hope Infiniti puts a nice looking set of brakes on the car to separate it from the 5AT.

dirtywally, do you think they'd still have 04s on the lot in spring? I thought since supply is tight they should be all sold by then, unless you're looking for a used one?

I do not think those are the rims we are trying to find. If you enlarge the picture the tire size sure looks like 18 to me.
