Default Need new exhaust: True dual or no?

Well, i got rearended this morning and i'm pretty sure i'm giong to have to get a new exhaust. It looked like the exhaust took most of the hit and it is pushed in and up, so something has got to be bent and i'm not having a bent exhaust so i'm assuming they will give me money for the cost of the RSR new. I was thinking about going with the EVO2 cause I like the look and I also want something more quiet than the RSR. I also have the gruppe-s y pipe so I was wondering if I should stick with a y pipe exhaust or go to a true dual. I'm planning on going FI sometime, so which would be better? Suggestions?

they wont give you money for the exhaust unless they think it was stock, or you added coverage for your mods. no insurance company will pay for things you decided to do to the car, unless the items are included in the policy.

But if it was someone else's fault, i thought their insurance had to return the car to the same it was before the accident. Either way, i will still get a good amount of money to go towards a new exhaust. If I was at fault I could understand that. But I've never been in this process before so i dont know how it all works. Regardless, the RSR is going to have to be replaced.

cool. i wasn't trying to go off topic or **** on your lunch, it just may be important to your wallet. i would think about not telling them it was an aftermarket system. in my perception, if they know and its not included your policy, it could only cause you to get less money. you may not have an issue if you are with a good company. but chances are that they will use logic and say something like "who knows if the damage would have been as bad to the stock system, why should we cover it?"

Yeah, i know what you are saying but isn't that the case when you are at fault so your insurance would be replacing stuff. I'm talking about someone else's insurance paying for their policy holder's mistake. You could be completely right, lol, but i hope not. I was hoping to get some good money for the exhaust and either buy one with the money or put it towards maybe one of the titaniums.

Yeah, i haven't heard of the TT exhaust. I wont do FI for quite a few months though if i do, so an exhaust made specifically for TT will most likely cause some slight losses while i'm still NA i would think. Isn't the evo2 supposed to be the best for FI anyways, people are getting like 30hp gains with that i thought. I kinda like the look too. I guess i'm going to have to check out all those exhaust sound clips again.

Man, i'm glad you said this cause it made me realize something. If they do ask me why they should cover it, i have a very legitamate reason. That RSR exhaust sticks out way more than stock, i'm not even sure if the stockers stuck out beyond the rear. If I hadn't had the RSR, there would have been much more damage to the rear. That exhaust is the reason for there only being badly scratched instead of dented. So basically, if i had had the stock exhaust they would probably be paying for the stock exhaust plus more body damage, instead of less body damage and an aftermarket exhaust. Hopefully, that makes sense

Evo TT is not out and no final plans for it yet

It honestly makes no difference whether you go true dual or a Y pipe back.....Ultimate Racing does have a really nice true dual that was based around their TT kit, so worth a look.

There are endless choices for y pipe back setups...again, Ultimate's Y pipe has the biggest diameter pipes out there I am aware of, though the one from Fujitsubo, JIC, etc would work well also

you will see the EVO2 TT ad on back of many tuner's magazine. However, it's true that it's not out yet. However, it depends on you are willing to wait for it or not.

If they give you the cost of a stock exhaust...that's even better...the stock exhaust costs around 2 grand I believe. Sausage doesn't know what he's talking about in this case. The other party's insurance company will gladly pay a LESSER amount to replace an aftermarket exhaust than a factory one.

Furthermore in most States they must return the car to the exact state it was in BEFORE the accident. This includes all aftermarket parts.

Furthermore...the other insurance company could give a rats @ss what's included or claimed on your policy...and they probably won't have any dealings at all with your insurance company.

Yeah, i agree. I called my insurance company last night and told them about the accident. I'm not worried about getting the money, just gotta figure out what exhaust to get. I want something quieter than the RSR which leaves pretty much every other exhaust on the market, so i'll have to do a little research again. The worst part is probably how long it will take to get fixed.

I would get the Nismo to replace the RSR, pretty much stock sound but nice tone when floored, Good luck!

I am actually thinking about getting the Amuse R1 titan. Assuming that I get the price of the RSR, cost for install, shipping, then I would be paying less than 1000 i think for the Amuse. I've heard it sounds really good and isn't too loud and its light. Just have to see how much money i get and what kinda price i can find on the AMuse. I'm not in a rush to get it, i will just have the shop throw on the stock exhaust till i get a new one. If i dont end up getting the Amuse, i'm not really sure what i would pick.
