Where a small Y pipe is attached after the cats, and when you hita button, it switches from your stock exhaust to an open pipe.

I was looking into this too. Only about $150 for the unit, but I wonder what the install cost would be and how the wiring would work...

i've been looking at these for awhile and want a electric cutout instead of a whole new exhaust setup. If anyone has a sound clip of one on a 350z, that'd be sweet. what's the diameter of the piping between the Y-pipe and muffler? how and where does the controller go? thanks

Your going to loose your back pressure with this cutout. These are mainly made for FI cars that don't need back pressure....more of a performance mod than sound.

I looked at this for my miata turbo...I heard ppl talking about the unit not sealing too well after several months (or closer to a year).

I'd love to hear what it'd sound like with test pipes...that'd be sooo loud!

yeah, it'd probably affect the HP/TQ in low/mid RPMs, but up top it should help out.

Some time ago I saw some valve that would close some of the exhaust. You could then run a huge exhaust and close it down when needed for sound reasons... Not really if that would help...
