Default what is wrong with my z?

I tightened some bolts on my kinetix plenum today because they were beginning to get pretty loose. After tightening the bolts my car idles really bad. The rpm's jump around from 250 nearly stalling then back up to 1200 then down again. Im not throwing any cel's and the car runs just fine, it just wont idle properly.

Tighteneing them down too much might cause a leak which will result in rough idle. Go back and reinstall the bolts the way they shuol dbe and with lock tite so they stay, make sure the cork gasket has not come off the flange and sliped, this happend to mine on the front towards the oil cap side.

Make sure you didn't crack it by tightening it too much. Aren't the Kintetix notorious for cracking?

i figured it was an air leak, but i tightened them down how they're supposed to be with threadlock.

With the engine running, take your finger and run it around the flange to see if you feel a slight sucking on your finger or a change in sound like a little whistle as you pass your finger to see if you find where the leak is occuring.

i found the leak last night, it was coming from the area near the throttle body. When we pulled the plenum off we also noticed oil sitting inside where the leak was. Is it normal for oil to be in the plenum like that?

Yes, when you took the stock one off you should have seen a little oil in it.
