Nice...I'm going to write my350z.com on my invoice before I send it out tomorrow. It may pay for the shipping

Here are my Nismos with Jet-hot sterling. When I spoke with Jet hot, they said the sterling would work just fine for protection with normally aspirated applications, especially with stainless steel headers. The reflective surface actually radiates less heat, which was my main reason for getting them coated.

I was thinking of getting the sterling coat as well but I think the little extra for the 2000 is worth it. Can I ask you how much you paid pre-shipping?

Yes, the rep told me the same...said the silver was more than adequate for a n/a setup. I kinda liked the fact that he was trying to save me a little doe. But, like Sr.Panza said, it can't hurt getting a little more protection for $25. I maaaaaaaaay go S/C if I ever fall into a pile of money, so I'll only be prepared with the 2k coating I went with the color BLK for the stealth effect too.

I have decided to do mine as well. I have TopSpeed headers, Kinetix HF cats and a Japtrix Y pipe I want to do. Only the Y pipe is currently installed so I have to take it off (no big deal).

I had noticed the heat from the Y pipe when installed, specially on long (Miami to Orlando) trips. I could probably just shield it somehow, but if I am getting the other pieces done, might as well.

Thanks to all for the great info. Extremely helpfull in making a choice.

ask them for the 350z gb rate, as i recall it was $156 for sterling, $176 for 2k, both plus shipping; tell them matt sent you...i ran the last gb, and they never really put an end date on it. ask for todd.
ps: i have heard of at least one sterling-coating failing...i went with the 2k just for safety's sake.

+1 I spoke to Todd as well. He was very patient and helpful with my endless questions. He said that there was like a 7 workday turnaround time. Does that sound accurate? Or did they pump them out slightly faster than that?

Exactly...

I talked to Todd and Matt at JETHOT and they were both helpful. Matt said he would give me a discount after I told him about my350z.com. I sent my babies out about 3hrs ago...and insured them!

Z BOY,
You had to run a special brake fluid because the Headers with coating got that hot?

You've got a point. No I don't. I guess it's best if Todd takes his sweet time. I just can't wait...patience. Patience.

i can't say for sure that its the headers. i'm beginning to question more and more the install. last nite i was looking under my hood and found the brake fluid container to be sitting down low, out of its holder. i'm gonna have someone else go over all the affected parts. crawford header install is a major undertaking, and this was this shop's first time doing them.
ps: i'm not the matt from jethot.
