Default successful 05' w/ TestPipes anyone?????

Well guys I've heard the 03'-05's ECU's react differently to mods.. I had helix TP, but I got a CEL.. I'd like to try some different testpipes, but I want to make sure there are other 05's out there currently using them with no problems first...I wan't something semi cheap, but also resonated..

Helix is out unless they have something resonated....

Everyone says the kinetix don't fit right...

Stillen are not resonated + pricey...

Megan racing is a joke....

Crawford is too much $$$ period....

any opinions????!??

sup ry. actually, the kinetix res tp i ran were very easy to install, with absolutely no rubbing problems. its their hfc that rub cuz they're much fatter. as to whether or not they will throw a cel on the 05, i can't say. i read recently that the 05s have a wideband sensing setup vs narrow for the older models, which should make things more sensitive. i KNEW you wouldn't be happy with the stock cats for long!

hey bud - all you need are two packs of nonfoulers to get rid of the SES that you WILL get with an 05.

HELP! Spark plug non fouler. Part 42002 for 3.99 from autozone.
They are a 2 pack. Get two packs and drill 2 of the nonfoulers out with a 1/2" drill bit. screw the NON driilled nonfouler into the test pipe. Then screw the DRILLED nonfouler into the non drilled fouler - install your o2 sensor into that. You will be SES light free and it will cost you less than $10 and about 1/2 hour of time.

If you run the HELP! method, you won't have any fitment issues or CEL, the easiest and most tested way to get rid of SES light.

yeah I guess you're right..since I can't be certain that the resonated TP won't throw a cell, I might as well not spend the extra ca$h.. Now I'm thinking I shoulda just kept my helix and done this

it'll come back on if it came on before When I had the Helix TP I tried the same thing...I instaleld them.. no CEl for 2-3 days.. I'm pretty happy except rasp..then the CEL comes on and I'm pissed...wishing I never boought them....then I reset my ECU and it stays off for a few days (got me all excited) only to come back every time

42002 or 42009 will work. Any others won't be the correct size.

You need to make sure you only drill ONE of the nonfoulers on each bank; the outer nonfouler that the o2 sensors screws into. If you drill both nonfoulers on each bank it won't work.

Hey, I've got an '05, and just recently installed the Kinetix TP's. And Yep, I've got the CEL 2 days later!! Won't go away. I think I'm just gonna go with some HF cats.

If you have cats, you don't need the fix. The HELP! method basically gives the o2 sensor a "cleaner" pocket to read from as it moves it out of the direct path of the exhaust when using test pipes.

If you install the nonfoulers, the CEL will go away. VERY EASY INSTALL - MUCH easier than uninstalling the test pipes and installing HFCs
