Default JWT Popcharger need oiling?

This is probably a stupid question, but I've heard some people say something along the lines of 'reoiling the filter' in reference to the popcharger. Doe the filter require oiling before installation?

I couldn't totally disregard the possibility that this was the case because it is basically the same filter element as a K&N and I know those require oiling prior to install.

Any input would be appreciated as I will be installing this tomorrow. (Bought it slightly used, hence no instructions so I couldn't go off of that.)

Thanks

the popcharger comes pre-oiled, so normally, you don't need to oil it again before installation

but since you bought it used, I would check the filter to make sure it's not too dirty... if it is, then you may need to get a cleaner/re-oil kit for it

i would suggest this as well, besides, the whole cleaning process only takes about an hour. just make sure to read the instructions before you clean, and do not to OVER OIL, or else you can kiss your MAF good by.

Basically the same rules on cleaning/ applying oil as on a K&N I would guess? Not too difficult. For that matter, could you just USE the K&N cleaner/oil?

I use the Holley Power Shot cleaning kit. The filter oil is blue like the Popcharger. K&N oil is red.

I bought a can of the blue spray on oil from Performance Nissan...I've re-oiled my filter twice now in the 10k miles or so I've had the car.... I think once a year or once every 6 months is fine.

Most people probably would let it go 3 years or something, but I like to keep it as new as possible.

www.summitracing.com or check with local speed shops. I get my Holley PowerShot cleaning kit at Speedtek in Dallas.

The JWT Pop Charger comes pre-oiled. You do NOT need to re-oil before install...

The BLUE oil will fade to gray after a while even if it isnt dirty... Just because it is gray does NOT mean it needs to be re-oiled...

Only when you CLean the filter you will need to re-oil...

I would suggest after putting a good amount of miles on your JWT Popcharger is to get a air hose and blow all the debris and dirty off the filter as much as possible. Concentrating more from the inside of the popcharger blowing through filter.
