Default Good going Crawford

I can only guess what you must be thinking this post is about. Well you just might be suprised

Although many people think that maybe I'm out to get Crawford or have some personal vendetta against Doug, I'm here to say that this is not the case. Sure the spacer/plenum threads got a bit heated, mostly because the "$29 Crawford Spacer" thread really struck a nerve as I explained in other posts. I'm not here to dig up old news again though, that case is closed as far as I'm concerned, and I have no hard feelings towards Doug or Crawford. I'm actually here with something positive believe it or not =)

Ok, so with that out of the way, I had a chance to check out the Crawford hiflows and wanted to offer my feedback. I've had several other hiflows on the G, most recently being the Helix cats, but because of various problems with every set I tried, I decided to borrow a set of Crawford cats and give them a try. Here are my impressions:

1) Sound great, no rasp whatsoever
2) Build quality is excellent, very clean welds, solid part
3) Come with brackets pre-welded to securely mount just like OEM cats
4) Make nice power, a definite step up from the OEM cats

I know of no other hiflows that meet every one of these criteria as well as the Crawford do. Definitely a recommended upgrade and IMO the best hiflows you can buy for these cars.

To the cronies, yes this is actually me. My account was not hijacked and Doug does not have a gun to my head

Peace out.

Ha! Funny stuff - good post! And kudos to you, Copba1t - I salute your honesty & class. I, too, love my Crawford cats and agree with all you posted on them. I've never gotten into the "Crawford vs. ..." wars on the plenums (but read them all), but from the start (1 1/2 yrs. ago) I've been very happy with everything Doug & his crew have done for me - Doug, John & Buddy (techs), Randy & Adam are all a great group of friends, the products I've purchased from them are top quality, and the install work I've had them do has been perfect at very reasonable prices.

And as many of you have discovered, Doug is one of the great guys here - never fails to answer a question for me when I call....whether it's about how a custom fabrication is coming along...or like 2 days ago when I called to find out how in the heck do I bleed both the master & slave cylinders on my clutch after draining and installing hi-temp fluid & hi-temp clutch line.

I do have to say...with Chris (PhoenixINX) off the boards for most of the past few months, it's been kinda nice seeing & reading the posts - hahaha! (Actually, in person, Chris is a pretty nice fella - in case you're reading this Chris ). He just tended to get a little WiLd here at times...an understatement, huh??.......

I told Doug he needed to start making some test pipes as well. With so many out there, it would be nice to be able to buy a quality set that you know will last and be reasonably priced.

Would love to see some cheaply priced resonated test pipes that are actually worthy of calling "resonated". Tired of the horrible raspy sound with my exhaust, but not willing to spend $350 for a set of good resonated TP!

Several people including myself had issues with the Helix being too large on the G's, especially the sedan. I had to hammer the underbody to get them to fit without rubbing. I also had the metallic substrate come loose inside the cat and was rattling something nasty, it sounded horrible. This was only after about 3 months of normal use (always let things warm up, etc).

I'm so happy with the combo I have on there now (Craw-cats, UT ypipe, Fuji) it sounds awesome and delivers very smooth power all throughout the RPM range. All I need to do now is get rid of this rattling POS B&M shifter and I should be all set on mods (for this month =)
