that thing sure is huge, but 19hp? I dont think the Z would get that from a filter at all, ours has to wrap around to the front and all that. plus is there an air scoop on Z28s that directs air at that filter?

Arrow Alot of people didn't believe me

But it's true. 19RWHP taken on the Dyno at Ralph Gobel's Hot Rod Heaven in Sacramento, CA. A lid/filter combo nets about 10RWHP on these LS1 engines and was not smog legal.

I had added a SS Hood that dropped cold air directly in front of the filter. Pic of hood shown here.

SS Hood

It was sort of a RAM AIR effect because the air is channeled into the engine bay via some ports in the fiberglass.

I have time slips in the 12 second range for this car from Sacramento Raceway.

Here is the best shot I could dig up on the Hood with the air channels running to the front of the engine bay

SS Hood interior

But you can't see the holes in this shot. My engine was being cooled for a Dyno.

And here is another shot that shows my Lid/Filter combo. I beat everyone with lid/filters in my car group that had similar HP to mine (by at least .5 seconds in the 1/4.)

Lid/Filter

and here is a side shot of what the FIPK looks like on my FireHawk. I bought it at Summit Racing, they are the cheapest place to purchase these around here.
