what i was told is that the piping is the same the filter is just changing. it will look more like the apexi is what the guy told me. so essentially it will have the opening at the end like the popcharger. he said it will be out in two to three weeks though. so i said i would wait for the new ones. now my assumption is that the reason they are making it is to improve the hp when it is made into a short ram but i do not know why else they would be changing it.

the people i ordered mine from said that injen was coming out with a new filter, i coud get the old one or the new model, so i chose the new model, and i also ordered rsr springs. next on my list is either the 350evo sways or the cuscos.

have yall seen injens new exhaust that just came out also? it has the burnt tips. its part number ses1986tt i saw it on there website yesterday but now i do not see it, anyway just thought id let yall in on the info. i wonder if they made it to get rid of the fiberglass on the bumper problem.

Jason, if you find out/validate the difference, let me know. a pic would be helpfull, along with price & avail.

Thanks,

John

its on there website it is part num sp1986

Nothing short of simply amazing!
For the enthusiasts who has performance and style in mind, the all new long and sleek SP1986 will deliver just that. Delivering what the RD1985 did and a whole lot more, it's engineered to deliver gains of up to 8-17 hp. This SP1986 will decimate them all! Injen's innovative tri-step process and Dyno
Tuned sensor adapter eliminates the use of the stock MAF adaptor, making this system really stand out among the
competition. MegaRam Technology the way of the future!

Yes but thats the whole intake. I thought this was just the filter element on the end. I've already got the intake.

yeah i meant that they were coming out with a new filter for their intakes but i was wrong it looks like they have just changed their piping i dont know what the real difference is, i would like to know becuase if there is not a huge difference then i might as well not wait. im impatient . i hope it comes in something other than polished too. anyway sorry for the confusion.

maybe some one else can find out if it is going to come in another color, the person i ordered from said it was going to come in black to, i guess ill just have to pray.

i hope it fits my 2005

Just got off the phone with Injen...

It is not a new filter... But they have re-designed the intake...

They state it makes more horse power...

It has a cleaner look by integrating the mass air flow sensor housing into the piping...

I do not have a picture yet... But if you havent seen a tube that integrates the housing here is a picture from my old K&N Typhoon intake...

On our next shippment from Injen I will have to see the new difference...

Part number changed too...

i just got some new info thru my email from injen....

they say the new intake will yield more hp than the old one but only for 03-04. it will fit an 05 but they said their is more potential to make the 05 go faster so they are in the process of making one for the 05. hum get the new one after two weeks, or wait for the 05 one , that is tough i want to go fast now and have the mean sound now. i guess ill just have to see what else i can find out.

just got word back about the 05s here is what the said : It should be about 2 months Im guessing. The exhaust will fit on your car and the tips are titanium tips.

so i have to wait two months for the 05 new injen cai but when i get it i will have to just drive by and until then though i guess its be cool time
