intake manifold help
I'm looking at purchasing an intake manifold. My only engine mods so far are grounding kit and jwt popcharger. Searching through the posts, theres a lot of mixed reviews about the new SSV and everybody likes the crawford. Theres also the new 350evo coming out. I want to keep the Z na and very soon I plan on going aftermarket from headers-exhaust. What would you all recommend for top HP/torque increase? Also what are these manifold spacers all about? Thanks for the help.
Altered Atmosphere makes a plenum angled spacer. Basically the idea behind the spacer is to get the maximum amount of air volume into the plenum without losing the factory strut bar (which if I recall correctly, some of our compentitors, do not allow you to keep) and keeping the factory appearance. It's a sleeper type of mod. We sell the spacer kit for 269.99 with everything you need (also this month we're offering a special where if you buy the spacer you get $50 off an ECU reflash). Gains in hp are similar to other plenums (obviously it'll all depend on the car and mods you currently have), and you get to keep your strut bar so your handling doesn't suffer.

If it helps in your decision, here are pix of the Kinetix SSV on my Z!!! As far as I am concerned, it is the best looking performance/appearance mods for under the hood. I think it has shown gains awesome gains on a F/I car and average gains on a N/A car. If you ever plan on going F/I, you should consider this IM.

I purchased the Motordyne 1/4" spacer back when they had the first GB. i will say that for $150 it might one of the best things to do. I'd say the average gain is about 2-3 HP in the lower band and 4-6 in the upper. not bad for price and the install is not bad at all.
