Default jwt popcharger

i was looking at buying a jwt popcharger and was wondering once it is installed can it be replaced by the stock one with no problems(how much modification must be done to the car to install the popcharger). Also how often must you clean and reoil it.

No modification to car except installing heat shield. It would be easy to put the stock box back in. I have had mine on for about 5 months and haven't had to oil it yet. It isn't even very dirty. Depends on what kind of driving and where you live.

I agree with Fletch69Z. zand02max is a great member. Just for insurance I had the JWT popcharger set on newspaper for 2 days to get the excessive oil off to avoid stalling it. The ECU adjust in about a week after installing the popcharger. When installing the popcharger make sure after unplugging the MAF sensor...that the 2 alignment arrows on the MAF tube, is put back that same as you took if off. The directions dosen't mention about the arrows on the MAF tube. It could cause problems later. It took me almost 2 hours to complete the job..I had some problems with the screws attaching the plastic snorkel & I had to put a spacer so the bracket set correctly. like all kits, sometimes you have to improvise. I'm no mechanic.

On cleaning it depends...they recommend (Performance Nissan) every 6,000 miles or when it turns brown.
Use the JWT recharge oil of which I have not done yet...it suppose to change the color back to the original blue. Also when cleaning you do not have to remove the whole POPCharger from the MAF housing. There is a clamp that holds the filter element on the velocity ring. Loosen this clamp and remove the filter. Rinse the filter from the inside and out...have water flow out of the filter in the opposite direction in which the air travels into the filter. Rinse until the water runs clear. Let the filter element dry for 30-40 minutes...sitting over crumpled up newspaper helps speed the drying processs. Once the filter is dry, apply oil to the out side of the filter (do NOT over oil). Let the filter dry for another 45 minutes. If any white spots appear apply another spray of oil and let dry. Once the filter is dry and no oil is dripping, re-install the filter and tighten the clamp.
I bought mine from www.avalonracing.net for $109.00 shipped. GoodLuck!
