Default SSV on modded NA car?

Would the SSv give good gains on a modded NA car? I know the reviews have been mixed and i might go FI down the road but for right now id like to keep the car under warranty since i only have like 6k miles on it lol. I dont want to go crawford bc it will have problems with my siebon TS hood. Also i love the looks of the SSV, couldnt be more trick imo.

i'm curious as well... i'm going to go FI ultimately, but if it works reasonably well for an NA setup, i might get it sooner than later

I like the design but soon someone will design an upper plenum or intake manafold which moves the throttle body to the front of the engine, and negates the need for all the plumbing that it takes to route cold air to the back of the engine.

I have seen a dyno where it made almost 20 whp on an NA car, which is higher than I have ever seen a Crawford or Kinetix do, so yeah, I'd go with it.

... which begs the question for the powers that be, "why all that plumbing just to put the TB back asswards?". I am rather surprised that noone has come out with a redesign. What is the reason for placing the TB by the firewall?

davidv- Your statement doesn't mean that you know someone who'll soon be coming out with that type of setup does it? Your statement seems pretty general and broad, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask...

undrgnd- +1. Why has no one routed the intake out the front? The extra piping does nothing but add unnecessary weight and length to CAIs and popchargers, as well as EVEN more tubing for the turbo'ed guys. Besides, it had been done already, it's just that they were one-offs from Japanese tuning shops.

Oh, and the STB might not fit, but if you did move the TB to the front, and there was not piping past the last runner, you could lock down the towers by bracing them off the firewall (which seems more stable than two wobbly strut towers tied together anyway).

Does 350evo make an intake manifold for the Z, or are you referring to something under development?
