No filter? Where's the 19whp? So it will gain 9-13 whp after a couple of hundred miles? Bullshat... These guys(aFe) are a joke.

I've seen 6whp gains with a popcharger which is the safer buy/better deal too.

I say it's a piece of junk...Sorry Would never drop the cash for that ****.

Ive have heard of a 3 angle valve job and can understand it, but on the velousity stack? How come they make no reference to the previously test popcharger that still made more HP on top according to their dyno's.......

velocity stack isn't new. On honda's at drag racing, or just drag racing in general, the smoothed out circles in place of headlights, or molded into the bumper, is just curved aluminum and basically as little bends to the throttle body in a large diameter.

Nothing new, but gotta use materials that dont heat up exponetionally and thats easy to bend.

edit : theres a thread already on here thats about claiming 21whp...

$500+ ? does it come with the intake manifold ? christ.

I am not questioning the velocity stack, the smooth round radius ones have a performance pedigree and looking at how air flows into a tube, they are a necessity for getting the most air into a hole. It's the "3 angle" thing that has me wondering. Sharp edges don't really seem like type of thing you want to smooth out flow and keep the air sticking to the sides as it makes it's bend into the pipe.

Gah! 571USD for a popcharger? Here is an archieved review that they did on the popcharger: http://www.nissanperformancemag.com/june03/350pop/

Same people testing both of them and here is a quote from the popcharger:

"Not wanting to mess around we put the car on the dyno immediately and recorded the biggest gains we've seen on any 350Z yet: 6.5 hp at the wheels!"

6.5 at the wheels for 109USD or 6-10 at the wheels for 571USD...

The intake itself is fine, it does make gains and looks fine, good quality materials etc.

BUT why the @£€{£$€@£$€ LIE about STUPID 21hp gains!? That just pisses me off!

If they want to sell their intake for $500+ fine, im not buying hehe, but to market and sell backed up by lies and false marketing is just plain BAD!

For those who havent seen, check this out, they claim 42 RWHP on a 94 BMW 325 (25% increase in total engine power with a filter?!?!) Iven even asked one of their employees about that, and he said he beleved the figures to be true!?
AFE SALES PDF - BMW 325 - 42HP GAIN

Thread discussing these claims with an AFE employee:

They used (stole) nissansource's dyno that he had posted without his permission. Anyone who actually pays $570+ for this thing is an idiot.
Yeah i saw that, someone talked with Greg (who did the test at Nissan Per Mag), he had apparently "lost" theirs and used Nissansource dyno sheet since they basically showed the same results (6-10hp).

Im quite intrested to see AFE's reaction when we have the 3:rd independent confirmation (will be done by Jason on Thursday) showing that their claims are false, acctual gain is less then half of the claimed gain!!

They just wanted to add some words that performance people know like 3 angle cut. Also this is complete BS:

"aFe suggests the car needs time to acclimate itself to the new intake, and the gains come on after a few hundred miles."

Cars don't just pick up 13 whp after driving a few hundred miles. What happens is after a few hundred miles they can claim that everything has changed which is why your not seeing the extra 13 hp. Its a filter on the end of a stick. Bottom line.
