Questions on CAI (Injen)?

Hey Everyone,
After doing a search, it seems that the Injen is the most popular intake upgrade, I think.
After looking at the pics., I just want to know a few things:
1. How much?
2. Where to buy?
3. Availability?
4. The long hose that attaches itself to the airfilter is made out of a super long piece of silicone?
Thanks,
Hoover

about 250, some price it at 275 including shipping. I was just at avalon racing they have it at 250. others have it as well tho, their names escape me right now.
so far I believe red is most of what is available, maybe some polished silver. but even so. I think that first batch is gone. the next batch should be around in a week or less. this should include all 3 colors(red/blue/polished).
that air hose is some sort of plastic or silicone like you said. I guess probably the best peice to bend in such a way. bending metal would be tough like that. not as smooth. tho plastic wont give quite the same sound, the top part of metal will do that trick.

no "waiting" list that Im aware of. it JUST came out about a week ago. so the first batch is sold, but the next will be here in a few days.(I was told within a week by avalon racing on the 19th)
you can see their design. pretty straight foward, but then you have about 50$ for the filter at the end. and of course the top portion is all metal, and the inside and joints must be super smooth. I donno how difficult that is to acheive, but I would suppose you would.

depends who you are. Injen located theirs behind the opening in the grill. excellent location for air. but its open to the elements like rocks and water.
AEM is out kinda sorta, not sure why we dont know where its located. Id guess the other logical location would be a little to the right of where injen put it behind the solid part of the bumper. not sure if theirs room over there tho.

It lists a part number for AEM CAI
Part # - Description
AVAEM01 - AEM Cold Air Intake $250.00
Is this the one to get for our cars? More cold air is good but what about HP? Any numbers yet or is stock with K&N better bang for the buck?

Can you clarify for me if the Injen "polished" system is the one shown in all the pictures which includes the red silicon piece that goes down behind the grill. My car is silver color and I would prefer something other than red for this piece. Is that possible?
Also, please advise when you have performance details for the JIC system.
Thanks.

I read a thread indicating that there may be a water issue with the Injen due to its location behind the grill area. Where is AEM filter located? I also read you can install some bypass valve to eliminate the water issue... where do you get that part?
Thank you in advance...

Although I could have easily just bought the Injen, AEM etc.....
I decided to challenge myself and fab. my own.
My pipes and air filter (both larger than all the aftermarket kits) arrived yesterday. After I cut it to size, I'll connect up my silicone connectors. Also, there was very little welding to be done.
FYI: I manufacture my own silicone, it's what I do for a living, so access to any size is easy.
I will probably not use silicone for that long piece that does a 90 degree down turn into the front of the car. For some reason, I think that (90 degree turn) is one of the reasons that this kit only makes 4 additional hp. However, maybe Nissan just did a good job and only the dyno will tell.
Anyways, the hardest decision is whether to powder coat or polish to a mirror finish.
Bling Bling here I come!!!
