Plenum upgrade
Kinetix plenum vs crawford?
Reason for asking is I found this package on avalonracing.net
http://gallery.bcentral.com/GID51101...t-Package.aspx
And I notice a lot of you have the crawford plenum... im just curious would you go with the crawford or kinetix. And if you go with the kinetix then would you just go ahead and get this package? (Ill be getting nismo exhaust system put on next month and this upgrade would be AFTER the exhaust) if that means anything

I had the Kinetix V4 (the late model) and loved it. I ran my Z really hard many times and it never failed me the power I got from it was awesome I would recommend it. Oh by the way, many people that bad mouth Kinetix are the ones that had a bad experience with the earlier model (that's discontinued now) Secondly, they heard bad things and don't even have a plenum....Lastly, most of them are Crawford owners or like another brand.
Look there's also been complaints about the Crawford ones in this forum too and I am sure that every company had there share of bad products. Besides, you even get a guarantee for the second owner with Kinetix.

This is a very MISLEADING add. No, after market Catalytic Converter is legal on any car with less than 50K miles on it. If a cat is broken, it must be replaced with the stock cat. With that being said, most after market hi-flow cats will pass smog testing. But, they may not pass a visual inspection, if the inspector knows what the stock cat looks like.
With all that being said, I do have the full Crawford package on my Coupe. When it comes time for my first inspection in 2008, I hope to pass visual. Crawford makes no bones about their cats not being street legal. I guess some vendors are less than honest though.

This is also in their advertising copy. I do not think they are trying to mislead people. I've talked to them on the phone about CARB and they said basically.
** Please check local laws regarding catalytic converters. These pipes have passed visuals and sniffer tests in CA (the strictest state on emissions) but they do not have a CARB number associated with them. **
Also, for a company which you suggest is dishonest, they do an outstanding job of replacing their products, in the event of a failure, under warranty. Granted, they may have had more failures then they should have, but they still take care of their customers and that should be commended.

I have the Crawford cast plenum. Best HP mod that I have done so far. I felt more power from this than any other mod (best bang for the buck). It works great with the POP charger intake and Stillen exhaust. With just these three mods, I dynoed at 260 whp.
