Default Injen CAI sound?

Anyone with an Injen CAI notice a difference in the sound of the engine? Does it make it sound better or different? Im thinking about getting an Injen CAI + Strup headers. I know the headers will obviously affect the sound, but was wondering what kind of impact the intake will have too.

Anyone have a sound clip?

Ant time that you move air through the exhaust system (such as with the intake) it will sound a little louder. Same tone just more volume.

I have the newer model of the injen CAI and it makes the "pssssshhh" sound when i get around 4k rpm. Sometimes it's at lower rpms but I don't really pay attention. The engine itself sounds noticeably louder when I start flooring it. Sorry, no sound clip.

Thanks again Alex. How have you liked the injen so far? Do you feel more pull? Ive been doing some research and it looks to be the best intake for the money so far. At least, I havent found any other intake that (realistically) claims higher gains with a dyno to support it.

My plan as it stands now is to get an 03 with low miles, Injen CAI, and strup headers.

i have had teh sp1986 for a while now..and honestly.....i can't say it makes the car feel dramatically faster......

as for the sound........it's mainly in the uppper rpm range....

i CAN vouch for the better throttle response though......

then again....i have had it for a while..so maybe i'm just used to the sound because it sounds pretty stock to me.....

just giving you the honest truth...

as for alex saying the psshhhhhh sound......------- yea, i don't think so... if you are referring to the sound of a bov....no way in hell.......

it sounds stock maybe just a increase in volume as david said....

is it worth the money????? maybe/maybenot.....personally if i had to do it all over again....i would just get the popcharger..

reasons-- easier to change out the filter and way faster.... as opposed to having to remove the front bumper...

good luck on your decision.

In my case, I had a noticeable gain in horsepower. I can even feel it in the lower rpm range. However I don't think the car has gotten too much faster. You can install the intake without removing the front bumper if you jack the car up pretty high and install it from underneath (removal of stock front lip spoiler is required if you have it). I recommend this intake and I have no regrets thus far. The only thing that worries me is the possible hydrolock when going into deep puddles.
