Default Test Pipes in... here comes the problems...

OK...
Test pipes were put in today...

We reset the battery for a while, so the ECU caches(my radio clock is messed up now )

Took it out for a test drive afterwards.

Car smells like **** ......
Not much sound gain maybe some hp but not immediately feelable....
Rev above 2500rpm it sounds a bit deeper than stock (I still have stock exhaust)
Eh...
It smells like exhaust gas everywhere inside the car...

Yes young grasshopper.....The smell will dissipate...
The same will happen with your new exhaust too, when you put that on...
Reset your radio ya weenie......
Just remember....All the little mods like, headers, test pipes and exhaust, as well as intakes, are only going to yield small gains so don't be too disappointed my young Jedi....

accompanied w/ an exhaust you will feel much more gains, and more in the upper RPMs. you will lose SOME powr down low, but make up for it up top.

I know...
I dont know what exhaust to get... im leaning towards RS*R cuz their design is very straight through ...

i dont like the big barrel can dual set up like nismo or stillen... it just looks way too stockish... and nismo is fujitsubu so bleh~

HKS, apexi, tanabe all look kind of rice with their ricer can mufflers...

veilside looks absolutely magnificent but cost liek HELLLLL...

Straight pipe no muffler no resonator set up is my own theorized notion but its probably going to be wayyy toooo louuudddd...

Borla? NAWW...

So basically leaning towards RS*R ... if my stocks go through the roof... then Veilside...

How long have you disconnect the batt. for? You should disconnect it for at least 20 hours for best result, if you are not using the paddle method.

I guess test pipes aren't right for your taste! They don't bug me one bit.

High flow cats are a alternative.

Lol dude disconnecting the batt. 10 mins is too short for the Z's ECU to reset. But trust me, if you can give the Z a day off and ask for a ride, it WILL make a difference. I have to admit the paddle reset method is too hard for me, so I went with the conventional way to reset the ECU.

jvanquish - did you notice any smoke coming out the tailpipes when you are decelerating? I installed mine this weekend and noticed that I am getting some white smoke when I slow down, then when I blip the throttle it goes away.

I have this set-up since last April and I still smells like exhaust fumes when I get out of my car. I think when you take out your Cats and Y-pipe, you basically took out something that filters the gasess out.
