Default Exhaust Info

Hey guys, ive done pretty extensive searching on the site and still cannot come to a conclusive decision on exhaust. Some of the things im looking for are:

- Non-ricey looking cans (Preferably 1 large muffler like stock)
- Deeper v8 growl yet still the signiture "Z" sound
- Priced reasonably, something under $1500.
- Good HP gains.

I know that the Nismo Exhaust is said to preserve the stock sound, but many people say that it isn't much louder and has small HP gains. Also, by looking at pictures of it, it doesn't really look any different than stock other than the NISMO on the muffler.

The Borla interests me because its said to yield good gains and sound throaty (due to TD design) but I don't want to lose that "Z" unique sound.

Any advice will help, thanks guys.

Best exhausts IMO:
APS duals - especially if you go TT
Greddy - trust me, not ricey looking and sounds mean, but not very loud unless you run test pipes
HKS - looks AWESOME and sounds OK(based on sound clips, I have not heard in person) I think you would need test pipes as well to wake this exhaust up

I'm not sure if its under $1500, but the HKS Hi-Power Ti Dual is aggressive sounding and looks like a beauty.

I'm about to purchase the HKS for my Z.

I have heard the clips of the helix and it does look good and sound good...its just hard to base your decision off of sound clips because they all have different qualities. I have heard that borla has a lot of issues with leaks and cracks, is this not true? I am not planning on going TT/SC so I want an exhaust that is good for NA engines. Does the borla have advantages over the helix/nismo in that it is TD? Will gains off of headers/HFC's be better with the borla? Also, is the HKS worth the extra $$ over other systems b/c it is ti?

EDIT: Almost forgot the Blitz system, I hardly see anyone on the boards with it, yet the sound clips ive heard sound pretty nice...any opinions?
