Hi guys i sent Kinetix a email asking for a qoute on a packaged price for thier plenum (not ssv) cats and Y pipe. they told me the following.

"Also, you are in luck, as we are now shipping a new improved version of the plenum, the V+ which is much stronger, and has more volume"

I did ask Kinetix if it was ok with them if i post this.

I thought this would be beneficial to those looking for a plenum to go with. I am still not sure what route I am going to take yet, but it doesnt seem that bad considering the price that i was given for the 3 items.

I know alot of you will say get the 5/16th spacer from motordyne and i might but if i do go with the Kinetix package I could still get the Iso Thermal kit and use it.

Same price i am assuming since its an updated version, and it is already available. they will have it on their site in a few weeks with pictures and updated information.

Sounds promising. “More volume?” One of the cost benefits of Kinetix is that the OEM strut brace is usable. With a new “more volume” upper plenum, I wonder if its taller than the last version. Will the OEM strut brace still fit?.

Its not a real important question, but I’m curious. I’m shopping for a upper plenum, and like the anti-heat sink properties of plastic. If you race in July and August, and put your hand near the OEM upper plenum, that thing is hot as hell. When comparing intake manifolds, very few 350Z owners ever mention potential heat sink problems.

to late email has been sent lol, but i think it was zboy who told me that you can put your hand on the plenum (Kinetix) after driving a long distance and the plenum will only be warm to the touch.

I was given this information via email from Kinetix. "yes the strut bar will fit, this one will also be warrantied with any FI system , as it has been pressure tested to 30 psi!!"

I emailed also and got this reply:
a lot has changed with it. It has more than 10% more volume than our last plenum. Is 270% stronger and handles much more heat (500 degrees!)

it also has been pressure tested up to 30 psi, so use it with any fi system you want!

So there might be a Kinetix upper in my future as well.

The stock strut has an adjustment, the aftermarkets don't.
The aftermarket struts all seem to be about looks, not performance.
None claim to be better than stock.
Therefore, I want to keep mine.
Therefore, a upper manifold that fits is what I want.
