Default Cant Descide What to Do! PLz Help

Hi my name is Bryan and i am about to buy a 06 350z. I have been looking over all diffrent mods for the Z. I have made up my mind to buy the Greddy Twin Turbo Kit for it(if there is better plz let me know). But thats not where my delema is... I own a 2003 toyota matrix right now and it has an awsome exhaust thats loud and beefy.. im use to a deeper ricer roar from my car.. Iv listened to a few exhaust clips and they dont sound to great, and sence i dont know anyone in greeley or westminster who owns a decked out Z for me to listen to i hafta make a choice by guessing. Anywho i cant deside what exhaust to get. I dont want one of those high pitched ones that sound like a wet fart.. I want a dual exhaust that is deep and powerful.. Right now i have my eye set on the Injen SES Straight Tip Dual Exhaust setup with the Injen Cold Air Intake.. I donno what headers to get too... Im new to all this and if you could help that would be great!!

Read my planned specs below and tell me what you think!

~Sorry for such a long Thread.. Just need to figure out before i buy!~

I got a 3" pipe to an HKS TI off a member here on the forumns. Its a single coming off the Y. Its deep and loud as hell. A couple people on the forumns can vouche for it. Later when I put the test pipes in im sure it will be even meaner. There should be a few sound clips floating around, you can also check out streetfire and hear some sick exhausts.

Your 100hp matrix sounded "deep and beefy" ?

Bwahahaha...

These are two totally different cars bro, don't expect to get the same exhaust tone from a Z as a matrix...

On a serious note, the Injen SES is "deep and beefy" as they come for 350z exhausts.

I have the Tanabe Super Racing and it definitely doesn't sound "ricer-ish". I wouldn't say "deep and beefy" either although it is much deeper than stock. I'd describe it as more "exotic" sounding. Without the silencers and over 4,000 RPM this thing just screams. Makes the Z sound more like a Ferarri or something than a Z...

zand02max- Im going to get the Enthusiast model. I dont see in paying for the bose system and all that other crap when im putting mods and things on that would just replace them.

And laugh all you want about my matrix xrs... but im pullin around 200-220 horse power... It may not look fast but its more then meets the eye. What does it matter anyways its a car that drives and its what i could get at the time and i like it and thats all that really matters.

There is no way you have 220 whp from a 180hp Matrix with just an intake and cat-back exhaust. Your using ricer math here. I'll believe ya when you post a dyno sheet. In that case I guess I have 310 whp sense I installed my Nismo intake.

its not all from the intake and exhaust i have had some engine tuning done to it as well.. ill post the dyno sheet as soon as i find it.. if i cant find it ill go down and get it redone.. I know it sounds wack but your correct... Look up the Injen CAI and the Injen SES Stright tip dual Exhaust.. They show you can gain from 17-22 hp (depending on site) from them..

That's not wheel horse power like a dyno measures. They are talking crank horsepower and it also depends on what other mods you have done to your car. All mods effect each other in different ways. So if your car was 180hp stock that is probably about 153 wheel hp. So your saying you gained almost 70 wheel horse power from an intake, cat-back exhaust, and some enigine tuning. I want the name of your tuner because he's doing things no one else on the planet can do.

Once again we are using ricer math here instead of real world figures.

You dont take the horse power rating of each part you install and add them up. That's not how it works.

+1. Begin with a 350Z. That is a perfect starting point.

it was 180 at wheels when i got it.. It already had something done to it but i donno sence i bought it used.. all i know is that is what sheet had.. But as far as to wheels then i probably only have 190whp.. I was only stating that i had 200-220 horse all together i didnt mean at the wheels.. thats my fault i should have been more specific..

http://www.zcarparts.com/store/merch...ory_Code=PEC13

Click that to see Injen Spec.. and if you go to Injen's main site they show dyno run from the parts alone..

Be werry of the dyno charts posted by companies. Once again we are talking crank hp so you might be 5-10 to the wheels with this setup. You should definately feel a difference. Mostly a difference in sound of the car. Get the car and the parts and do your own dyno and see how it turns out. Good luck to ya and happy modding.

+1 Exactly! You're talking about going TT etc, but don't even have the car yet.

By the way, I'm planning on getting an Enzo. What size turbo should I fabricate?

Like others have said, get the Z first, then we'll talk about mods.
