Default Header Install and where to find Injen SES

So Mrs. Clause (the wife) was kind enough to buy my Z a set of Strup headers for christmas. I'm planning out the install now, but have a few quick questions.

1) Should I go ahead and order replacement gaskets for the install? he instructions state to "be careful" with them, but how easily are they damaged? I'm assuming I would need both the ones that go up against the engine block, and also the ones that attach to the exhaust?

2) How much should the install run me if I go to my local dealer? I've read through the instructions, and frankly, I'm a little intimidated. The plenum spacer and intake were easy, but this seems much more invovled.

3) Can anyone tell me where to find the best price on an Injen SES straight-tip exhaust? I'd really like to do both at the same time, but the best price I've seen is around $900.

Thanks!

For header install check with

Pro Tune Performance
15 New Charlotte St.
Manheim, PA 17545

Yes its a drive, but nothing beats a shop that has 350Z header experience. Mention my name. See http://350zforum.com/net/viewmsg.asp...&msg_id=111541 for details.

For a quality job, get new gaskets: both the engine block side, and the catalytic converter side. New gaskets have a raised lip for proper sealing. On a used gasket, the lip is crushed. 4 gaskets cost about $100. Depending on how complicated Strup is to install, figure $200 - $400.

For the cat back exhaust, shop froogle.

Most likely, headers are not considered a self-install item, so no instructions. Like a transmission: you don't get instructions.

For a regional shop, post in regional forum.

You really dont need instructions to install headers..Its pretty much straight foward once you do a few sets..
If you need them installed call and scedule an appointment, Nissan will RAPE you and there are ZERO Nissan dealers in NJ that have a clue what their doing, FYI..

$300 - $400 is about right... I was quoted $385 at one place and $300 where I finally got it done.

Here are some quicks pics of the strup headers...

its a 4-5 hr job @80-100/hr so thats not bad @ 400. beware the crawford headers are even worse, the engine had to be dropped in order to do them.

if ur worried about the price diy the install. its not that hard if u know what ur doing.

FYI there are no headers on the market that produce 25whp on a N/A Z. I would like to see an independant dyno on this one..
Also the quality of the headers is not my favorite ones but for the price I guess they work for a while..(sarcasm here.)
