Default Is is worth it...

I already have Nismo intake/exhaust.

Now I want to get new headers. I was thinking going with Nismo (I can get them for $1050 shipped), but then many people on this forum fo with crawford...

Doing the math:
- Crawford headers - $1150
- Crawford hi flow cats - $500

Total: 1650+500 install cost = $2150

Will it make noticable difference: just Nismo headers vs Crawford set...

I've heard that headers are a weak link for power gains. Might wantr to do a bit more research if you are going to spend that much money.

$2150..you are half way for a supercharge. Save up a bit more and have your car F/I.

I know it is a lot of money... that will make me almost half way with a SC.

The only thing that worries me is the reliability issue/maintance cost with FI cars. I used to have a turbo'd car - and it is a lot of $$$ to maintain it. Things tend to break more often + you will not be fully happy with the install unless you invest big $$$. People dont realize how big the total cost for going FI is....

EDIT: there is no compromise when you go FI.

the reliability issue/maintance cost for SC is less than Turbo. isn't it? If i could start all over again, i would use the money i spent on my wheel toward Vortech or TN.

man i got a set of dc ss headers and kinetix high flow cats for $500 TOTAL off of this board. i know theyre not crawfords, but consider it, because $2150 is a lot to spend for those kind of gains.

The quality of the items that you selected is excellent. If they are within your budget, go for it.

as far as i know yes. sc are more reliable - but they will never give you gains like turbo => less power but also less problems

I was thinking about Vortech - but everything adds up:
- $5k for the kit
- $1k for install
- $1k other (gauges and so on)

So I am looking at +/- $7k...

SC are not more reliable.

for a TT setup, you are looking for 12K bucks for a complete setup including install, gauges, and exhaust.

A ST will run you about 8500 including install, exhaust and gauges
