I use a cleaning kit I had around from K&N, yes K&N... I had it so might as well. It is a soapy stuff you spray on it, then you rinse, let it dry, then you oil it.

After I oil I stuff it with paper towels and let it sit overnight to drain/dry out. That way you don't mess up the MAF sensor with exces oil.

Wash it in Dawn. Let it dry overnight then spray with JWT oil if you want it to remain blue or use K&N red oil. Definately need to soak up any excess oil before installing so like Slaponte said stuff it with paper and let it sit overnight. I also recommend you don't do WOT until the engine heat has had a chance to help dry it out.

when i went to the auto store to ask about k and n vs holley, they said that k and n wasn't as 'high performance' as holley. plus, i didn't want it to be red. if u are interested in the holley, i picked it up in hayward off of A street at Vic Hubbard Performace. it's only a few miles from san leandro.
