Default Now to Let the "Z" Exhale!!

Thanks a lot everybody for helping out a rookie tuner!! This site has been a tremendous help for me. I will keep throwing out questions if you guys and gals are willing to spread some much needed, respected knowledge! That takes care of my intake mod's, now on to an exhaust so this baby can exhale!!!

I recommend that you

a. Set a budget.
b. Decide what configuration you want. Single. Dual. One or two mufflers. Y-pipe?
c. Shop for catback exhaust systems which meets your budget and selection criteria.
d. Pick your favorite.

I'm lookin' at a budget of about 2,000 to get the most horsepower and torque thru the entire low the high end. I like the dual exhausts, but am a little confused about the difference in Y-Pipes, Test Pipes and Hi-Flow Cats. I want to stay street legal, and have pretty strict emissions with the boy's in blue bustin' ***** over anything that sounds fast from more than 50 feet away!! Help me with any set up that exhaust experts reading this would do with 2,000 grand to build breathing holes for the "Z"!! Davidv, drop some knowledge on me man!!!!

are you going to go f/i: st or tt down the road? not all kits are compatible (or necessarily the best) with the kits. no exhaust is going to give you THAT big of a gain. listen to a bunch and find what you like. if you want to keep the stock tone, you're going to stick with something like the stock configuration and not a true dual. my fav is amuse r1 titan, but is a lil over $2000.

For 2000, I would get RSR ExMag GT II exhaust, motordyne 5/16 spacer, helix test pipes, ur crank pulleys, and an injen cold air.

If you REALLY want to spend 2000 on an exhaust, go for the HKS hi-power. It's bad azz.

Headers, highflow catalytic converters and a cat-back exhaust for $2,000? I think we can do it.

What time do the forced-induction guys drop by to tell you that you are wasting your money?

What mods are done right now? You're not going to see large gains from just an exhaust. I gained 17rwhp and 10rwtq from my mods. Refer to sig.
