Looking nice!!! P-Charger definitely the way to go. A difference you can actually feel and a sound unreal.

What should my gains roughly be? 10 hp to the wheels?
The K&N Typhoon Air Intake scoop is the same level as the tow hook. If the car is in water that deep you have bigger problems than hydrolock!

I'd think the CAI would be better since isn't the popcharger just another ram air intake? which sucks in hot air from the engine bay. but I'm kinda bias since I'v used K&N in every vehicle I'v owned.

And how much louder does the PopCharger make the Z? I already have a cat-back exhaust and headers, and ypipe, so its louder than stock.

I doubt if you will notice any change in exhaust noise.

AEM Cold Air Intake.. it takes more than rain to hydro lock.. if its flooded then yeah.. stop that engine and take the bus.. It rained so hard here in Hawaii.. and no problems with my intake.. running it hard on H-3, but then again I got that dryflow.. which maybe the difference.. i dnt know..

I heard dropping a K&N Air Filter (which the previous owner kindly put in) will give similar/same gains as a JWT Popcharger.

Any truth?

Exactly, the Typhoon is a Cold Air System and the Aircharger is a Short Ram, similar to the PopCharger.

The typhoon is semi short ram.

It has a front mount scoop that forces air into a cold air box, which sits around a popcharger-like short ram intake.

It is not a long tube CAI like nismo, injen

A right-up made a while back by one of the guys from Performance Nissan stated that the hardware was top notch with the K&N. I have the typhoon as well and it's all proper stuff.
It's pretty loud, definitely a difference compared to stock. I just picked the typhoon due to the better looks than a popcharger. Also there will be more cold air coming towards the filter.

I think it goes this way guys.

you want looks, sound, and power? get the Typhoon

You just want power? Get K&N drop in filter.

You want power and sound? Get Pop Charger.
