Default plenum spacers

The time has come..Ive had my car for about 6 months

after doing allot of reading on the search forum..about plenum spacers

i just got to ask my own questions

I decided to go with the 5/16 spacers
because i dont want to modify anything under the hood
i guess with the 5/16 i can use my engine cover and also my oem strut bar
if i am correct?

But now the question is?
what brand should i go for?

if i can get some opinions from some member who has plenum spacers and any information that will help me out
i will greatly appreciated it

and how hard is it to install??

do you really feel differnce in hp? iwth 5/16 compared to the 1/2?

Please review the Sports Z magazine plenum vs plenum shoot out. All your questions are answered there.

I got the Motordyne spacer and love it. I got the 5/16 spacer because I wanted to keep my engine cover and strut bar. Their website also has proven dyno and great customer service support. Install of the spacer was a breeze if, you are mechanical incline. The install instructions that came with my spacer was easy to follow and very detailed. I felt a better pull in the higher rpm range. Motordyne says you will get a horsepower increase between 11HP-13HP from this mod. You can check out their website at http://www.motordyneengineering.com/350z.asp

I've got the AAM spacer (1/2" front to 1/4" back). It's a tight fit under the strut bar and that's with two sets of washers under the SB mounts.

All things considered, I'd go with the Motordyne 5/16" spacer, you'll get almost as much gains as a 1/2" spacer without all the tight fit hassles. Being in the south, you might want to consider getting the MD Isothermal kit with the spacer. It definitely helps keep the intake air cooler than stock.

It's not that difficult to install, 1 hr for the spacer, maybe 2 hrs with the isothermal gasket. I'd highly recommend that you have a torque wrench.

Motordyne and aam are two different companies. I have the 5/16 Motordyne spacer and have no hood clearance issues. It fits like a glove.

AAM and no problems with anything fitting under the hood, add 2 washer under each of the strut bar bolts
