Cryo Cooler
Has anyone thought about, or is using, this item. Its a cryo cooler that goes into the intake. Any thoughts or suggestions, besides using the search function, would be appreciated.

um..well...i suppose if it *could* reduce air temp by another 50 deg before hitting the cylinders then i guess it would be beneficial....dunno if it would actually do anything IRL
but at least it's a better idea than the turbonator

sounds too good to be true...
imo if u want to reduce intake temp, u should do the heat wrap for the tubing...
Correct me if I am wrong, but isnt this the same basic principal as using water/meth injection? Isnt the purpose to cool the intake charge to prevent detonation on boosted cars?
Well lets see. Running at 5,000 rpm, a 3.5 liter engine ingests about 8,750 liters of air/minute (2,500 intake strokes x 3.5). Someone check my numbers.
Is this or any cooler capable of cooling 8,750 liters of air/minute? Think about it.

Its too much of a hassle for a few ponies, just run nitrous if you want to have a bottle in your car. If you have problems with detonation you can also try aqua mist water injection kits.

Just swap out the Co2 bottle for a nitrous bottle LOL!

I've got it on my car. Only for drag racing, biggest bottle last 6-8 runs.
Totally bogged down the engine on the dyno (intake sucking up CO2).
Car ran 0.7 secs slower on drag strip (again intake sucking up CO2).
Next step, enclosing the air filter and using a Varis airduct to feed it air from outside...
CO2 is way cheaper than N2O. And if the air intake sucks in N2O, you might get detonation (or more HP, but it's inearly mpossible to tune I guess...)

edit: I saw your sig. I assume that you have the intercooler sprayer and the excess Co2 is being sucked in by your supercharger, correct?
