I'm interested to hear about this as well. Also, if you could do before/after dyno's it'd be even more interesting.

since you are sticking with stock exhaust, you might want to stick to a small diameter aftermarket Y Pipe. Ideally you want the Y Pipe outlet to be dumping into a larger or same size exhaust diameter to avoid rasp. But thats nearly impossible if your sticking to a stock exhaust. Unless you get the HKS Y Pipe

The smallest Y Pipes are the HKS which has a 2.44 inch outlet., and the Tanabe and 5Zigen which have a 2.75 inch outlet

Every other Y Pipe is at least 3.0 inches, which i think is too large for a 2.5 inch exhaust, Kinetix used to have a 2.5 inch Y Pipe, but they dont have it listed on there website any more. You might want to get in contact with them and make sure tho since they used to have a great price.

I have test pipes and a y-pipe with a stock exhaust. I had just tps first and they are non res so they were a little raspy. Since I got a y-pipe the rasp is slightly less noticable and its a little deeper and louder but with the same "z"ness. The butt dyno feels good especially in high rpms and I paid $70 for the y-pipe so I can't complain.

Sure! Right now I'm very busy with work AND school but I will be good to go in the next week or so. We should just turn it into a meet. Let me know.
