Two other things we found helped but where done a the same time.......
1. resetting the ECU
2. the filter comes oiled to catch dirt........if the filter is over oiled.....it will clog up the MAF (the oil gets sucked through the MAF). Be sure to check the MAF and see if it is covered in that oil. We used an electric solvent cleaner on the MAF.

I would agree with Dr BonZ I doubt you could tell the dif with an extra 3-5 HP.
It's not just about gaining 3HP, it's about getting more cold air to your engine, and it looks cool too!

The world of bolt ons would not exsists if they were not popular,

You get 3 here, 7 there, 10 from some good headers and add an ECU next thing you know you got 30HP, it's all part of the mod fun.

More cold air in, more hot exhaust out. That is the name of the game. Plus more spark, more fuel more speed!

I am glad I went with Injen, and it looks nice. Others will have to make their own decisions. Asking people what it sounds like is not really a good way to justify buying it.

It's too hard to describe how things souns in text and sound clips can be limited by your computer hardware. You really need to hear one in person. That's the best way.

Default Sound

Thanks for the feedback,

In your opinion does it sound any different?

As for the install I am pretty handy, is it something one with some talent can do or does it need expertise?

Thx again.

Sound is subjective and opinons here have varied.

If you are asking *me* directly if I noticed a sound change?

Yes, it growls more, but my exhaust is modded. I also noticed a power gain to (SOTP) and others say they didn't. To me it was obviuos right from the first day, but I am *very* in tune with my car.

I love her

Is that freaky???

I mean I didn't buy the car a Valentines gift or anything but it's the best car I have ever owned and I love driving her.

Edit add,

Oh yeah the install is cake. Remove the bottom plastic instead of the bumper and feed the cone up through there.

Most important thing to remember. Disconnect the battery before install (or pulling the AIT off the MAF) or you *will* get an SES light! Guaranteed!

I got the AEM CAI not for any possible HP gains but I had heard from other posts here that the intake sound is incredible. Well, I will testify that above 4000 rpm, it is incredible inside the car. I can only guess that other drivers can hear it much more than I can since usually when I start to hear it I see heads start turning and eyeball in the rearview mirrors.
