UPDATE!! larger MAF installed only...
.... so basically all you're doing is putting a bigger housing around the maf sensor? (the black tubing??)
What is the stock diameter of the housing again? (no I'm not going outside to measure.. :P)
I'm not sure why this would require signal correction for the maf?
(sorry I'm a noob)

You need signal correction because bigger diameter = lower velocity of air coming in. Lower velocity will make your ECU think there is less air coming in when in fact there is more.
I wonder how this setup is going to work with stock intake. And if so where could I get it tuned with out buying parts and installed with out any problems with clearence. Will there be clearance issue on a G35 with this mod? Good job though.

1. You can't get it tuned unless you have engine management (By the way, not ANY engine management will do, it must have the capability to spoof the MAF voltage. An example would be the greddy Emanage Ultimate) and a good tuner... assume a minimum of $1200+ to get this tuned including EMS
2. It's not readily available as this is a homebrew mod. There is no installer, it's just you.
3. How is audiblemayhem supposed to know if it will clear the hood on a G35?
Your questions are a little bit... ---->
Long story short, for you I would recommend buying a popcharger and calling it a day. This project is clearly not for you.

well someone might know i was assuming. Also I was wondering if any place would tune for this mod or would I have to do it my self with something like emanage?? Thank you
the whole point of this is to get rid of the stock intake piping and stock maf sensor. this is a project that requires knowing how to tune and compensate for some stuff that HAS to be done. the car wont even idle without you knowing what to do first
i have already tuned it for the most part. i will do just a bit more tonight and then off to the dyno on friday morning. hopefully i will get to compare the stock intake the same day, i know time will be pressed.
thanks wired for handling some noob questions...

aite, question that seems to have already been answered but just wanna make sure, so this wont work with like a basic greddy emanage or a regular unichip? has to be more of a higher end engine management like the e-ulti or utec? (just asking cause it would be very cost efficient, depending on dyno, if you could do it with the emanage or unichip since they are pretty cheap used right now.)
yes guys i dynoed it today. these are dyno jet numbers, SAE corrected. no bull**** and no tricking anything on the dyno. this is on a 287 03 touring.
i have stock headers, stock muffler, stock block, stock heads, stock cams, stock clutch and flywheel.
my only mods are KnN, skunk2 spacer, pulleys, test pipes, JIC y pipe, and utec plus my larger MAF housing
i dynoed 251 SAE before
today i put down 256 SAE 243 tq correctedand over 270 not corrected , not bad for the few mods i have and being in florida, the car was really hot too. no big deal, no working the dyno sheets to read higher....
my stock muffler is really backing things up, i will have my exhaust on wed of next week. flywheel will be here soon too..
i have a total of a few hours and $20 dollars into all this. it was just for fun and with a larger throttle body and ported plenum neck, im sure it will do a lot better.
i also have a feeling that when i am driving it helps more, ramming more air in. which would not show up on the dyno.....

Congrats Audible
Not bad just for adding a bigger MAF housing
I do think the exhaust is holding you back at this point. Seems as if your car is breathing fine, it just needs to move the exhaust gas out faster.
All and all, they are some solid #'s for what you have done, good job.

i think he will be really surprised as to how loud its gonna be after a exhaust also. Im sure it will make a difference but i prefer the stock exhaust note.
I think as great as this mod is for a N/A car, it should have that much more of an effect for FI cars. Good stuff audible. This is why i follow/read threads and posts of yours. Definitly have taught me a thing or two.
The Q45 maf may be a good idea as it may very well plug into the stock 350z harness, then all you would have to do is tune it with your EMS.
In all actuallity also, couldnt you tune it with an S-AFC, seeing as how it alters the maf signal in the first place. I dont really like the S-AFC all that much, and feel its a little outdated for our cars, but that should work!

So you're saying you gained 5whp peak? I'm skeptical, as this could very well be achieved from tuning alone. I'd be interested to see how this effected the overall power curve, as from what you say the butt dyno points to a big power increase. Do you happen to have before/after dyno sheets?
This would be interesting for a single turbo setup such as the TN setup. Could reduce lag at high power levels. Not sure if it would increase hp (prolly) bit it could definitly be worth a try for someone with the TN kit since it is a fairly cheap mod if you can do the tuning.
