Default Anyone thought of this?

I got my Z like 4 months ago, and before that, like everyone, I was shopping around. One of my choices was a 03 Maxima SE, so I joined the forums to pick their brains and learn about the cars.

Of course exhaust was a huge thing like it is everywhere, and everyone was saying, "How can I make it sound like a stock 350z/G35. One member had even put a G35 SEDAN muffler with custom piping on his. Anyway, I wonder why we dont get much attention on here from other nissan owners wanting to buy our stock exhaust or at least the muffler?? I figured a few people definitely would have given it a shot. Our used exhausts go for 50-200 dollars max on here between members, so I figured someone with another car that was obsesed with the Z sound (like I was before) would be willing to throw down 3 or 4 hundred.

I guess the fittment, pipe sizing, etc. would all be different, but it seems like they could make it work somehow. Anyway, your thoughts....

Good idea. I love the sound of the Z stock exhaust and couldn't get myself to put on the Greddy SP. Slapped the Y pipe on instead to maintain that stock sound.

If the market was there, members would sell the OEM exhaust. And you mentioned several costly considerations:

1. OEM exhaust - $200
2. Shipping - $50
3. Custom installation - $200

The sound of the OEM exhaust is cool. But who will pay $450 when a aftermarket cat-back (which fits properly) goes for $600?

Good points Davidv. I am just trying to justify my up and coming purchase of a Nismo or Fuji cat-back. If someone wants to throw me a couple hundred for my stocker then I will sleep better.

I wouldnt mind selling mine for a couple of hundred bucks myself instead of having it sit there collecting dust.
