Default deep thoaty sound

I have a stock exhaust now and it sounds awesome, just alittle too quiet. I would like something that has a deep thoaty sound, not too loud and nothing like a 4 banger. Can this be achieved, maybe a borla true duel. Does anyone have a borla on their Z.

Check the exhaust section...lots of different brands (including Borla)

Borla is prob one of the most quiet exhausts on the market...the sound is pretty deep at low rpms and gets considerably more quiet as the rpms climb, but at wot, it gets pretty loud again...i know there are sound clips somewhere, try searching

+1. i think pretty much all the exhausts will sound pretty wicked. i got an evo2 with test pipes and i love em. i've also heard the HKS in person is all i can say. i've also heard the nismo in person loved the sound of that one as well.

I personally think stock sounds pretty ricer. If you like the stock sound but deeper, try any of the 3' dual exit but not true dual exhausts. TurboXS just released one, and im pretty sure it sounds monster.
If you want a deep tone, u'll lose the 'Z' sound, try any of the 2' or 2.5 true dual exhausts. Stillen, IMSOLUTIONS and SVRTech are my favorite, along w/ APS.

check out the video clips on this exhaust:

http://www.svrtechnologies.com/2.html

this is the most "throaty" sound i have found... and is my plan to swap with... only downside is they include the piping all the way up to the headers... so the exhaust is NOT cat-back... it REPLACES everything from headers back...

so if changing your exhaust once a year for inspection bugs you...it's probably not a good idea...

also here is a link for a bunch of different exhaust clips...

http://www.everything350z.com/exhaust.html

my favorite out of these is the Tommy Kaira Z Type 2 and Blitz NUR Touring...
I've only found ONE dealer that carries Blitz NUR, that is www.Hopupracing.com

enjoy!

If you want to retain the stock Z sound but make it a lil louder then go Nismo or Fuji. All of the true dual systems will take away the familiar Z note. If you still need something louder then go add tp's/HFC's to your stock exhaust. Nismo sounds awesome with both too. Now for the ultimate exotic sound, then there is only one.. Amuse R1. Better sounding than any prancing horse. Now for those of you who say the HKS Ti sounds good, it only sounds good when the car is parked. Under load its soo quiet. The Nismo is much louder although I am sure the HKS gives better gains.

I recommend that you

a. Set a budget.
b. Decide what configuration you want. Single. Dual. One or two mufflers. Y-pipe?
c. Shop for catback exhaust systems which meets your budget and selection criteria.
d. Pick your favorite.
