Big Jon, if you actually read the thread you would have noticed I stopped posting on it quite some time ago. I stated my case, much beyond that is a waste of time.

Just because Harley riders make lots of noise does not make it right, 2164 people attempt suicide every day, does that make them right?

I am sick of my rights being taken away because of "children" who have no stake in the community or sense of long term consequences. The same ones who will cry like a baby when some law is passed restricting them in some new way. Until they outlaw sugar and caffeine because some kid drinks a coke and goes off to shot up a school, I'll be chugging down as fast as I can and recycling the cans. Drink up Big Jon, it's only a matter of time!

Yes, I would have to agree with titanjc. The way mine is now is border line too loud for me, but I have gotten used to it and have figured out how to keep it quiet when I need to. Test pipes, I'm guessing, would just set it over the top as far as sound level goes. But, thats me, You on the other hand may like it a bit louder. I would try it out and see what you think. Post some video clips up when you do so.

 

Yeah I think it'll really depend on your personal tolerance level. I've got an Injen TD straight-tip right now, and had Helix TP's on the car for a while, but it was WAY too loud for a daily driver. It definitely sounded mean as hell though. I can't imagine how loud your exhaust would be if it was THAT straight-through, without a muffler even.

 

ok i dont think i'll run the Po Folk with the setup i described earlier. sound will be a concern. Cali cops are unforgiving when it comes to sound.

It's not about exhaust backpressure, it's about maintaining exhaust velocity. Too small a pipe will of course plug things up. too large a pipe slows down the exhaust flow and doesn't allow for proper scavanging from the cylinders. there's a lot more too this, but thats the simple answer. Fluid dynamics actually helps explain exhaust flow.
